iDroid – the World’s First Robot Controlled By Smartphones

on March 10, 2012 10:00 am

Brando is offering the iDroid, the latest entry in the MIDbot series.  This robot has 9 motors that allow it to move body parts, box, launch missiles, and even walk in a “humanoid walking model.”  Instead of a remote controller, you download a free app to your iOS or Android device and connect to iDroid via Bluetooth to control him, or you can use your Bluetooth-enabled, internet-connected computer as your remote.  You can even record and playback routines for iDroid, and an app update planned for the future will allow you to record programs up to 10 minutes long.  The iDroid is $249.00, and it ships only to West Europe, North America, and Asian countries.

“This robot has 9 motors that allow it to move body parts” Hmm… that might come in handy if ya want to get rid of some pesty neighbor’s body :P
    If it’s 7 feet tall; I’ll buy one :)
