Design and features
The VIZONY FHD 1080P projector is a clean-looking cube with an electronic focus and multiple connection options. I’ve used budget projectors before and was pretty disappointed in their brightness of the display and the clarity of the focus. This projector does not have that problem. I was impressed by the clarity and brightness of the display.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
Setup of this projector was simple. I think I spent more time looking for 2 AAA batteries for the remote control than anything. Plug in the projector, remove the lens cap, and you’re in business. You just need a clean surface to project onto. With the exception of the power button, all of the controls for the projector are located on the remote control. That does introduce a potential risk if you ever lose the remote control because it’s just a pretty brick without the remote control.
The controls for the focus of this projector are located on the remote as well. They are intuitive and it only took me a couple of seconds to dial it in.
Performance
At this price point, the brightness is excellent. Well visible in a lit room.
In a dark room.
Keystone adjust and focus both worked very well.
Taking the projector outside, this projector performed great once the sun went down. In daylight it still struggles, but I think that’s a pretty common issue with most displays that aren’t significantly more expensive. Picture does not show this well, but the quality was excellent and clear.
The clarity of the picture is also great, even projecting onto a white vinyl fence.
It connected easily to a laptop and I had no issue displaying everything I threw at it.
What I like about the VIZONY FHD 1080P Projector
- Great picture and brightness for the price point
- Connection options are great and flexible
- Focusing the picture with the remote was very intuitive. By putting the focus inside the projector this way it makes it so that you’re not going to bump the focus adjust and throw the picture off.
- Onboard speaker is acceptable. Not amazing, but in a pinch it’s fine. The built in Bluetooth connectivity makes it unnecessary in most situations and you can connect up to whatever portable speakers you prefer.
What needs to be improved?
- Onboard controls for if/when you lose the remote
- Nothing else
Final thoughts
This is a great little projector. I loved how easy it was to focus and adjust in the controls. It’s pretty simple to understand and clear. I don’t have anything bad to say about it and through several viewings it held up well and we had no issues. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive projector.
