NEWS – Back in 2019, I wrote about the unique 686 toolbelt buckle with its built-in screwdrivers. Now, there’s a newer version of the 686 toolbelt that has added multi-tool functionality. The belt itself is made of 100% genuine leather and is available in brown, and black. The removable buckle is available with an antique brass finish, black finish, or silver finish. The dual-pronged buckle has a flat-tipped screwdriver prong and a Philips screwdriver prong. Also built into the buckle itself is a bottle opener. Then there’s the loop slider, which has a ruler on the outside, and on the underside, there are three wrenches (8/10/11mm). I have the original “Tool Belt” and it’s great for what it was designed for, which is a snowboard/ski bindings tool. I had used it as part of my EDC for years and only used it as a tool a handful of times when I was too lazy to grab a real screwdriver. The bottle cap portion is handy but I would always reach for the Leatherman first so I never really used it. As for pants falling, I wore the correct size Dickies so I didn’t have that issue.
Least with a standard multitool I take it from its pouch, and my belt keeps my jeans in place … Ain’t nobody gonna want to see me in my boxers getting all sweaty working on something!

They should have put a measuring scale on the backside of the belt.

I have no idea where you have lived the last 20 years, but I own few of those belts, since 2005. I have few of them in my house and in my 2 villas, for all my outdoor pants. And I have even made gifts to some of my friends with this belt. 🙂
