After being an Android phone user for a few years, I decided to come back to the iPhone. I went with the iPhone 6 Plus for its awesome camera, big size, and continuity between OS X 10.10 and iOS 8, along with many other reasons. I needed a new spiffy case to protect it, but something that didn’t add too much bulk. Along came Casetify for a review, so I decided to give it a try. Let’s take a look!

Casetify has a website and mobile app where you can select various style of cases for your iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/S5, iPad, and various other items. I spent what seemed like hours on their website trying to trying to find a customization option right for me. They have some fun pre-designed collections such as holiday collection, lace, clear, sparky, and wood backed cases. If you decide to customize your case, you start off choosing from a classic snap, Metaluxe (a case with a metal corner and customized back), Metaluxe backplate, or maple-wood case. You can then upload your own photos, or connect your Instagram or Facebook photos. You can also choose from a “stamp” library of designs from Casetify itself. It’s overwhelming the amount of customization you can do!
In the end, I decided to pick a fun clear, black and white, star splatted design.
My case came in a simple cardboard designed box, with clear cover on the case and small booklet.
On the back their slogan can be seen along with a blip encouraging you to share your new case with a hashtag #Casetify.
The classic snap case I chose is 2.5mm slim, and fits my iPhone 6 Plus perfectly. The front of the case has a tiny bit of lip to protect the curved edges on the sides and corners of the phone. If the phone is placed face down on a table, it gives you a tiny bit of gap.
The top of the case leaves a gap with no protection. I wish the case just covered this little bit of the phone.
The sides of the case leave enough room for the buttons to be pressed.
The bottom of the case also leaves a gap with no protection, but it’s due to the speaker, headphone, and lighting jacks being all together.
All in all I really love this case due to its fun design and slim profile. Since it’s made of a hard plastic I feel it offers protection in case of a fall, so long that it doesn’t land face down! This particular case is more for style and design rather than protection. I do think the prices are a bit steep, but since you can customize it to your heart’s content, it might be just what you are looking for. If you are looking for something fun and stylish for your mobile device, give it a try!

The worst Iphone cases to date. I ordered two at $50 each (including S&H)from this company expecting what I see in the pictures and both times disappointed at the quality of the product. I ordered, what looked like a textured ombre iphone 6 case with stars. When I received it, its a printed sticker with a poor quality printer and stuck it to the cheapest, flimsiest case. Beyond disappointed. Waste of Money! DO NOT PURCHASE!
I also ordered a case from Casetify. Totally disappointed. The ombre glitter case I ordered was NOT glittery at all. It was a sorry excuse for a frosted case. Why not show me what I am going to buy to save me the trouble of being totally ripped off and pissed off? Now I am going to have to spend more money on sending them their junk back.
I also ordered a case from Casetify, and like the two previous commenters, I was very disappointed. The plastic used for the case is not as clear as it looks in their photos, and comes with a frosty film. The images printed on the case weren’t great quality, either. Not worth the price.
I have yet to even receive the case I ordered on Oct 1, 2015. I’ve contacted casetify multiple times, only to get a generic response. Needless to say, I’ll not be purchasing anything from them again and I may not even keep the case when (IF) I receive it.
I am beyond disappointed with the quality of this case. I paid almost $50 for a case I thought would be very durable. Not only did the first one come to me ALREADY broken, but it took almost 3 weeks to get a another one from them and it broke after ONE fall. The plastic used in these cases is very easily breakable and cracks after one fall??! I highly recommend buying from someone else.
Worst customer service of all time. I ordered my case some time before Oct 14th (that is when it was marked for “pre shipment”) and my case was supposed to arrive by nov 3rd ish. Then I got an email casually saying that it wouldn’t arrive until the end of Dec. I emailed explaining my disappointment only to get an insincere, seemingly auto – generated response, by someone named Vivian who obviously didnt give a damn offering me 20% off of my next phone case (as if id ever buy from Casetify again). Then she said that she would bump up my delivery date to the end of Nov. instead of Dec. Well the end of Nov. has come and gone and I still dont have my case. Every time that Ive tried to call them (Always during regular business hours) they have never once answered or returned any of my calls. Hopefully I get my case soon. Unless you like to be jerked around by some punks from Singapore I wouldn’t recommend getting anything from Casetify. Especially if you aren’t in the market for waiting 3 months!!
Dear Jerry,
This is Michelle from Team Casetify. We are terribly sorry for the unpleasant experience you have encountered. We have just reached out to you via Email, kindly check your inbox and we are happy to assist 🙂
Thanks!
Michelle @ Team Casetify
Would not order again, terrible quality spent $70 on a case for it to break in three spots within the first month replacement sent and it broke too, no response from casetify not impressed. Print quality was amazing too bad the case was junk.
Absolute junk. These have no shock protection whatsoever. My wife dropped her iphone on its side (only the case touched the ground) from 3 feet up and the screen shattered. This case did absolutely nothing to protect it. What a waste of $40. You’ll get better protection out of a $7 tempered glass screen protector with no case.
Junk cases LOUSYYYY customer service!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!
Ordered from Casetify. Order on Dec 6th. Were notified it was ready to ship on Dec 9th. That is the current status still today (Dec 31st). Multiple attempts to contact the company have gone unanswered. Horrible experience – have filed a claim with my bank. I get that things happen, but not answering communications is just not acceptable. Buyer beware.
I also have to say that this is an awful case. The area that he points out at the top, which doesn’t protect – it doesn’t protect at all! My phone fell and cracked because it hit in that area. Ended up needing a totally new phone after taking it to the Apple Store. The case also cracked, and when I tried to take it off, it broke apart. I did not THROW the case, it just fell about 2 feet. Awful!
CASETIFY ARE THE WORST!
Notice how if you google ‘casetify review’ there are 0 places wher you can leave a customer review and rating.
If you go to their facebook page and see posts to page there are dozens of customers who have has issues with orders and quality of prodycts, and nobody from customer support gets back to them, and if they do it takes weeks to get this resolved.
I advise everybodyto steer well clear of them.
Their product quality is very poor and cheaply made, despite the expensive price tags.
My experience:
1) Bought an ipad air front and back case
– print and image quality is terrible on both sides
– the smart wake/sleep function doesn’t work on the front case
– after just 3 weeks of use around the house the print has already started to rub off
2) Casetify support sent me a new front case to replace broken sleep function
– after TWO DAYS the cheap plastic hinges snapped and the case fell off the magnet!
– 5 days after contacting customer support i still haven’t heard back from them…..
I actually ordered a photo cover for an iPad Mini 2 case from them. After ordering a case on their website on 12/9/15 I was so excited to get the marble designed photo case. After waiting WEEKS for it to arrive in the mail. When I finally received it, I found that the case did not fit correctly. I contacted customer service after finding out that they needed to be emailed within 10 days of receipt along with pictures of my ill fitting case. When I told them my issue they said, “try moving it down, the case should fit.” That’s all.
I had been trying that for the past week! I emailed them again letting them know that I had been trying that and was ignored. After paying $40+ for a case I expect it to fit properly. I don’t make rash purchase decisions so I’m not only disappointed in the product but also the service. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CASETIFY.
Horrible product and horrible customer service. I sent them five emails and got no response for weeks and then got a generic email that was no help. DO NOT BUY. THE PRICE IS HIGH AND THE CASES ARE CRAP.
I will NEVER order anything from here again! I ordered my case so long ago and till this day I have not received anything! They don’t even bother getting back to you! I have emailed them multiple times! So disappointed
If I could give this negative stars, I would. After ordering my case, I was still waiting a month later. After FINALLY receiving the case, it was different than I initially ordered and on top of that, the case was BROKEN. I sent multiple emails explaining and didn’t hear back for 3 weeks! Once they finally replied, they didn’t even care to fix or replace the case I was sent. Horrible company, horrible quality cases, horrible customer service. Waste of time and a waste of money.
Horrible cheap product, thinnest cheapest plastic imaginable. For the same price from another site I got an awesome hard case with a liner.
Case arrived broken. Literally the only way to contact customer service is through email, and they never get back to you (no response to 3 emails) I have never such a bad experience with a company. “F” rating with the Better Business Bureau and over 20 complaints.
Absolutely awful product and service. I ordered a custom iPhone 6 case and Apple Watch band for my wife for Christmas. Not only did my “complete” order arrive without the watch band at all, but then it took weeks to get the watch band. Now, three months out (not even) the custom design is peeling off the watch band, the case is flimsy, and overall I cannot state enough how much people should stay away from Casetify. Just awful!
So..
I just bought one of their cases and I’m waiting for it to arrive.
I just stumbled acrossed this page and … WOW! Oh ooooooooooo.
Is there ANYONE who actually likes their case?
Yikes.
So… I just ordered one of these cases. I’m yet to receive my case but I really wish I’d found this page before spending $65 AUD on a phone case!
I checked their Facebook page and there was nothing but positive reviews. I’m now starting to realise that they probably just delete any negative feedback as soon as it’s posted. I’ll let you know what I think of my case when it arrives 3 months from now. Ugh.
I found this page just after ordering, and to make sure no more time or money gets wasted, I requested if it hadn’t shipped, for a refund. I got it. Phew.
I have just received the case and two plates that I ordered. I really like it! Also the photos above are outdated as the case they now produce going round the sides fully covers all areas. There is no gap at the top and even the volume and power buttons have the plastic covering those to help protect. It goes round the whole phone leaving three small gaps – one for the headphones jack, one for the power cable and one for the silent switch. I really like the print quality of all of mine.
I also have tempered glass on my screen for extra protection to prevent it from shattering. Have yet to drop my phone with the casetify case to test the protection but I don’t intend on doing so! I’m pretty happy with it to be honest!
I just want to say that I read these negative reviews, and I’m glad I didn’t listen to them, because I got my case in about a week of ordering, and it’s literally perfect, and the exact way I designed it. LOVE LOVE LOVE! So hopefully they’ve maybe just improved or something! 🙂
Good for you Gina – an “unbiased reviewer” that TOTALLY doesn’t work for Casetify. ?
Carolyn – I definitely don’t work for them. I was actually freaking out when I found these comments AFTER I placed my order, and I just wanted to reassure some people who might have also happened across this AFTER they ordered as well… Just so they knew not everyone had a bad experience.
Severely disappointed by the quality of the graphics. The picture of the pattern I ordered was a realistic looking graphic of dripping paint, what I received looked like a home printer copy. I’m going to return it.
Worst case I ever had. Started falling apart a week after I got it. I’ve only had it for a little over a month and the clear silicone sealing is starting to yellow. Have to spend more money now on a case to protect my phone. Useless.
I live in Ontario Canada and ordered 2 cases. I received them by the date that was stated when I checked the tracking and I love my cases!!! I’ve just ordered another one, Christmas themed, so I can change my case at Christmas.
Don’t support upcoming artwork. Zero stars!
TL;DR: DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY; IT’S AN ACTUAL SCAM.
I ordered a classic grip case from this company and it was the worst experience I have had with an e-commerce website.
1. The preview photos do not match what the case actually looks like. They sell cases that “fit” several iphones but they do not show the apple logo placement (which is way off) in the preview photo. For almost 50$, I expect a high quality case, which it was not.
2. Their customer service is only by email and it takes days to hear back from them and at odd hours (you can expect a reply at 3-4am)
3. Even if you want to exchange an unused product for something different you have to pay shipping. Ridiculous!
This company and the cases they make are TOTAL DUDS. their marketing is just a bunch of FALSE CLAIMS that they won’t actually stand behind. I dropped my phone from less than 2ft and the screen cracked while in their case (DTLA Impact Resistance Case – marketed as 6.6ft drop protection). I reached out to their “customer service” and they were completely dismissive. Buyer beware: AVOID THIS COMPANY. There are much better case manufacturers out there and having their case is no better than having no case at all.
VERY disappointed that I thought I was buying a case with screen protection and when it arrived was only a decorative back. Wrote to customer service to see if part of my order didn’t get shipped only to find out that’s it! Useless. I paid $40 bucks to get something to protect my screen from breaking, I got a $10 plastic back with some cute decals. Wish I’d seen these reviews first.
Awful returns service, you have to email to advise you wish to return, took them 5 days to respond (eating into my return period time), then a convoluted email discussion as to why you want to return and finally I am advised I have to send back to the US, which I have to pay for myself, this doesn’t lend itself to a happy consumer experience
I have now purchased 3 cases and love them, I didn’t design my own chose from their collections, I have 2 snap and a neon sand case worth every AUD I spent, The only issue I have is that the snap cases are difficult to get off!
