Wallet designs seem to have undergone a radical change from our past simple leather bifold and trifold designs. With all of this changing going on, how do you set yourself apart from the crowd? The Liquid wallet hopes to do so with functionality. The Liquid is a current Kickstarter project by for a multi functional card type wallet that incorporates card and cash storage with key carrying. Made out of 6061 grade aluminum that is hard anodized, the Liquid is 3.70 inches long, 2.34 inches wide, .55 inches high and weighs 3.24 ounces empty. The Liquid has the ability to carry two standard size keys, an elastic strap to keep your cards and cash in place, comes in two colors (black or military green), and its casing shields your cards and personnel information from RFID scanning devices. The Liquid has several pledge options, a pledge of approximately $36.79 (41 AUD) will get you one Liquid in your choice of colors (this does not include shipping outside Australia). Funding for this project runs until March 25, 2014 and if successful is slated to ship in the July 2014 time frame.

There are all these cool wallet/key ring projects out there. None of which are useful to me. Am I the only person on the planet with about 900 keys on his keyring? None of which would fit these devices? Not to mentions RSA keys, Key Fobs. I feel I’m being denied a certain aspect of “cool”.
@Andrew Baker Didn’t I see you in one of the Matrix movies? But really, I think this wallet would be useful to store a couple of back-up keys. I cannot see myself using it for a car key situation (do they still actually make ignition keys?) but as I said, as an emergency key holder it would be great. I liked the design concept thats why I posted about it.
They are great designs, and cool. I just wish I could use them.
After reading this review, I placed an order and eventually received the wallet.
The keys were hard to figure out at first. But it nice to have the slots. BTW, I am down to 2 keys – keep my car keys separate. So this works well. The minimalist thing is hard as I am forced to leave most of my credit cards at home. I was surprised by this as I really didn’t think I had all that many plastic. But when you consider: drivers license, health insurance, library card, ATC, and one or 2 credit cards that wallet is overflowing.
Also, my cash is now folded up into little wads which is problematic at the cash register. The best thing I have to say is my back pocket is a little thinner looking.
What this liquid wallet achieves is a longing for a secure, safe, private, easy to use mobile payment system. Then I can leave everything – including my library card & health insurance Card at home!
