If you don’t want to wait for a Bluetooth receiver from Kickstarter, Exeter Science and Entertainment has you covered today. Their CoolStream Bluetooth Receiver plugs into any docking speaker with the Apple 30-pin connector and effectively converts it into a Bluetooth speaker. You can use the CoolStream-equipped speakers with any Bluetooth-enabled devices, including iPads and Android phones. If you’re using it with a phone and a call comes in, the music will stop while you answer your call normally and continue when the call ends. The CoolStream requires no power supply and uses no batteries. You can even plug it into your car’s manufacturer-installed iPhone cable in the glove compartment or center console and stream your music to the car’s speakers. The CoolStream is available for purchase now from Amazon.com for $39.99; you can even get free 2-day shipping if you’re an Amazon Prime member.

Only thing missing is a pass thru USB port that could allow a device to charge from the dock.
If you were going to charge from the dock, you wouldn’t be connecting to the dock via Bluetooth. You would just use the regular dock connector.
@Jeff With a USB port, you could charge other devices that won’t fit on the dock – like an Android phone or a tablet that charges with standard USB.
This is a really cool idea and I can’t wait to get one!
CoolStream helps me to stream all of the podcasts which I like. That is so great that I can listen to Anderson Cooper 360 daily on the way to work. That makes my day very Cool!
This will definitely solve the problem of connecting with the new iPhone, if, as rumored, Apple changes the dock connector.
Will it steam video as well?
