A pocketknife can look impressive on paper, but the right one is the one you’ll want to carry and use. Blade shape, handle construction, opening action, and weight all shape that choice. The 0450CF and 0350 show how two knives with the same blade length can suit very different preferences.

The Zero Tolerance 0450CF and 0350 represent two different approaches to premium folding knives. Both are manufactured in the United States using American and global materials and have locking blades, but their designs serve different priorities. The Dmitry Sinkevich-designed 0450CF combines carbon fiber, titanium, and a manual bearing pivot in a lightweight package, while the Ken Onion-designed 0350 emphasizes assisted opening, textured G10, and flexible pocket-clip placement.

Zero Tolerance 0450CF: Lightweight Construction and Manual Opening

The Zero Tolerance 0450CF brings Dmitry Sinkevich’s streamlined design to a compact folding knife. Its carbon-fiber front handle and titanium back keep the emphasis on low weight rather than the broad, substantial grip of the 0350.

Its 3.25-inch CPM S35VN stainless-steel blade has a drop-point profile and a black finish. Unlike the 0350’s recurved cutting edge, the 0450CF uses a more conventional blade shape.

CPM S35VN offers wear resistance, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Actual edge retention depends on heat treatment, sharpening, and the materials being cut; the steel designation alone does not determine cutting performance.

The handle pairs a carbon-fiber front scale with a titanium back that forms the frame lock. Green-anodized aluminum tube spacers add a contrasting detail to the otherwise dark design.

Opening is handled by a manual flipper and Zero Tolerance’s KVT ball-bearing pivot system. Unlike a spring-assisted mechanism, the blade rotates through user input without a spring completing deployment. A titanium frame lock with a hardened steel lockbar insert secures the blade when open.

Zero Tolerance 0450CF

The 0450CF measures 7.4 inches overall and 4.1 inches closed, with a published weight of 2.45 ounces. Its reversible pocket clip supports left- or right-side tip-up carry.

Both knives have a listed 3.25-inch blade, but the 0450CF is shorter when closed and substantially lighter. Its 0.4-inch handle is also slimmer than the 0350’s 0.5-inch handle, making it the more compact option for buyers who prioritize pocket carry.

Zero Tolerance 0350: Assisted Opening and a Substantial Grip

Designed by Ken Onion, the Zero Tolerance 0350 combines a broad blade, textured G10 handle, and spring-assisted opening.

Its 3.25-inch CPM S30V stainless-steel blade has a drop-point profile with a recurve. Zero Tolerance currently specifies a black PVD coating for the 0350.

CPM S30V provides a balance of wear resistance and corrosion resistance. The black coating adds surface protection, although scratches and finish wear can still occur.

The handle uses textured black G10, a durable composite material resistant to moisture and dimensional changes. Its pronounced surface texture provides defined gripping contact, while the handle contours accommodate a firm hold during cutting.

The 0350 uses Zero Tolerance’s assisted-opening system. Users initiate deployment through the flipper, after which spring assistance completes the opening movement.

A liner lock holds the blade open, and the four-position pocket clip allows left- or right-side carry in either tip-up or tip-down orientation. This arrangement provides more carry configurations than the 0450CF’s reversible tip-up clip.

The knife measures 7.6 inches overall and 4.6 inches closed. Zero Tolerance’s current specifications list its weight at 6.2 ounces, making it substantially heavier than the 2.45-ounce 0450CF despite their matching blade lengths.

That additional weight is worth considering for everyday carry. The 0350 offers a substantial handle and multiple clip positions, but buyers who prioritize a lighter pocket load may prefer the 0450CF.

Its combination of assisted opening, textured G10, and a drop-point blade with a recurve makes the 0350 an option for buyers who favor a substantial grip and spring-assisted deployment over a slim, lightweight design.

Which Zero Tolerance Pocketknife Should You Buy?

Choose the 0450CF if you want a slim, light knife that still gives you a 3.25-inch blade. At 2.45 ounces and 4.1 inches closed, it takes up less pocket space than the 0350 while keeping the same blade length.

Want assisted opening, a fuller textured handle, and more clip options? The 0350 gives you those features and weighs 3.75 ounces more than the 0450CF.

For occasional package opening or light household cuts, a simpler folding knife can do the job. These ZTs make more sense if you’ll use their premium steel and construction.
