More importantly, these functions are not completely isolated. The main flashlight can operate while either the knife or screwdriver is deployed. That makes the MK a compact work light and tool combination, rather than simply a collection of features in one housing.
The 300-Lumen Flashlight Has Independent Testing Behind It
OKNIFE rates the main spotlight at 300 lumens with a maximum beam distance of 133 meters. Independent measurements give a clearer picture of what to expect from something this small.
1Lumen measured 306 lumens at startup and 282 lumens after 30 seconds, closely supporting OKNIFE’s 300-lumen output specification. After 10 minutes on High, output had fallen to 171 lumens. The 300-lumen figure is therefore a peak-output rating, not a sustained output level.
Beam distance was a different story. 1Lumen calculated a 115-meter throw after 30 seconds, below the manufacturer’s 133-meter rating. For most likely uses, such as inspecting equipment, finding something in a vehicle, or handling a small repair, close-range visibility will matter more than maximum throw.
The MK also has a side floodlight and red lighting, including a red beacon mode. 1Lumen measured the white side light at approximately 20 lumens, making it better suited to close-range area lighting than to replacing the main beam.
The Knife Is Small and Deliberately Simple
The folding knife has a 48.5 mm, or approximately 1.9-inch, blade made from 9Cr18MoV stainless steel. The blade is 2 mm thick, and OKNIFE specifies a hardness of 58 ± 1 HRC.
The mechanism is worth understanding before buying: this is a non-locking slipjoint opened with two hands, not a one-handed locking EDC knife. ZeroAir describes using the nail nick to pull out the blade, much like a traditional slipjoint.
That setup is better suited to light cutting jobs, such as opening packages and slicing tape, than tasks where a larger locking folder would be preferable. OKNIFE also makes claims about the steel’s edge retention, ease of sharpening, and durability, but those are manufacturer descriptions rather than performance characteristics independently established here.
The Screwdriver Is Useful but Minimal
The third major component is a folding magnetic 4 mm bit holder. OKNIFE includes one double-ended S2 tool-steel bit, specified as PH0 Phillips and SL3.5 slotted, and says the holder accepts most standard double-ended 4 mm bits. ZeroAir identified the slotted end of its review sample as SL3.0, a small discrepancy with OKNIFE’s specification.
Either way, one double-ended bit will not replace a screwdriver set. The useful part is that the bit can be swapped: if you regularly encounter another compatible fastener, you are not permanently limited to the included combination.
The flashlight can remain on while the driver is extended. For a quick repair in a dim spot, that could save you from trying to aim a separate light while turning a screw.
The Battery Can Also Run on an AAA Battery
OKNIFE supplies a 3.6V, 450mAh rechargeable 10440 lithium-ion battery. It charges inside the MK through USB-C, with a manufacturer-specified charging time of approximately 1.5 hours.
The MK can also run on a standard AAA battery, a capability confirmed by both 1Lumen and ZeroAir. That gives you another power option when charging the included cell is impractical.
There are two caveats. ZeroAir found the recessed battery cap cumbersome to open because access involves the fold-out lanyard loop. The included rechargeable 10440 can be charged in the MK, but you should not try to charge a standard AAA battery through its USB-C port.
Small Size Comes With Predictable Compromises
OKNIFE lists the complete tool at 52 grams, or 1.83 ounces, which matches ZeroAir’s review sample. ZeroAir measured approximately 65 × 24.3 × 14.7 mm; 1Lumen measured its sample at 68 mm long and 54 grams with the battery. Despite those small differences, both measurements put the MK below two ounces.
A two-way pocket clip, lanyard attachment, and magnetic base offer several ways to carry or position it. ZeroAir found the magnet strong enough to hold the MK on a suitable metal surface.
OKNIFE also specifies IP65 water resistance and an operating range of 0°C to 40°C. Those remain manufacturer specifications, not durability results independently verified here.
The trade-offs are clear: a small non-locking blade instead of a full-size folding knife, one double-ended screwdriver bit instead of a bit set, and a roughly 20-lumen side light instead of a powerful work light.
