REVIEW – Between dog hair, tracked-in dirt, and the general chaos that comes with living in a small apartment with a crazy pup, keeping my floors clean feels like a full-time job. My current vacuum is too bulky to drag out every day, so I’ve been looking for something cordless and lightweight, yet still powerful enough to handle daily messes easily. The Tineco Pure ONE S70 Cordless Smart Vacuum Cleaner looked like it might be a good balance of convenience and power. After using it for several weeks around my 900-square-foot apartment, it’s clear this is a thoughtfully designed vacuum, even if it’s not perfect. The Tineco Pure ONE S70 retails for $569.00, definitely on the premium side of the cordless vacuum market.

Design and features
The Tineco Pure ONE S70 has a modern design not unlike many other “stick” vacuums. The main body of the S70 features a metallic blue and orange design that looks premium and feels solid in hand. The semi-transparent dustbin makes it easy to see when it is filling up. The overall construction feels solid and well-balanced, with no creaky plastic parts or loose fittings.

The S70’s motor housing and dustbin assembly have a smooth, sculpted look. The mix of deep blue and orange gives it a surprisingly cool appearance.

The handle has a textured grip that helps prevent slipping and feels comfortable. Just inside of the grip is the dustbin latch.

The dustbin opens from the bottom for quick emptying. The latch clicks securely, and the seal feels tight enough to keep dust contained.

Holding the S70, it feels well-balanced and light enough to maneuver one-handed without straining.

The main brush head features Tineco’s 3DSense Pro technology, which automatically adjusts suction based on floor type and debris level.

The 3DSense Pro roller features a soft roller brush that combines blue nylon bristles for debris pickup with red fibers for polishing hard floors.

On the front of the 3DSense Pro brush head is a three-position switch for adjusting the size of the head’s opening depending on the debris you’re vacuuming up.

The S70 includes multiple cleaning heads, including the main 3DSense Pro roller, a smaller power brush for upholstery, and a mini roller ideal for stairs and tight areas. There’s also a thin crevice tool with an included dust head.

The included power adapter connects to the freestanding base for automatic charging.

The dustbin can detach completely from the main motor body with a single button press. Inside, you’ll find a fine-mesh filter and HEPA screen, both removable for cleaning.

The S70’s filtration system breaks down into four separate components: the outer dustbin, a fine mesh cyclone, a foam pre-filter, and the primary HEPA filter. Every piece rinses clean under water.

The stainless steel mesh filter is perforated to trap larger debris before it reaches the finer filtration stages. This feature supposedly helps preserve suction power over time.

Once reassembled, the dustbin locks cleanly into place with a click. The orange handle of the mesh filter folds back into the dustbin out of the way.

The telescoping wand has a large latch on top with a bright orange finish that makes it stand out.

That latch engages the wand’s folding joint which allows the S70 to bend for low-profile cleaning under furniture. The hinge feels sturdy and clicks firmly into place when extended upright.

Fully extended, the wand provides great overall reach. There’s a smaller orange latch on the underside of the wand that locks and releases it from the main unit.

The electrical contacts at the wand base carry power to the motorized brush heads. The connection slides in easily and locks.

Matching contacts on the brush head ensure power transfer is seamless. The alignment is tight, reducing the chance of a loose or misaligned fit during attachment.

The bright display provides real-time battery percentage, suction mode, and filter maintenance alerts. The illuminated ring around the edge also shifts color based on suction level and debris detection, blue to red according to dirt level.

The display has additional icons to indicate when the roller is tangled or the air channel is blocked. A small L or R appears to show when the edge cleaning mode is activated.

The removable battery detaches from the handle with a quick slide motion after pressing the black button on the battery’s side.

Once reattached, the battery locks firmly with no wiggle or flex. The fit matches the overall tight tolerances of the S70’s design.

Assembly, Installation, Setup
Setup was quick and simple. The wand plugs into the main body without tools, and the floor head attaches with a single click. The freestanding stand requires a few pieces to be assembled. Two gray extension poles and modular brackets form the freestanding charging stand. Each piece clicks into place without tools, making setup pretty easy.

The base of the charging stand is weighted for stability, but must be placed on a hard flat surface.

The support post locks securely into the base and accessory bracket. Assembly takes less than ten minutes from box to floor-ready, with no screws or wall anchors required.

The base column locks into place with a firm press of the release button, securing the post so there’s no wobble once upright.

Fully assembled, the charging stand is pretty well balanced. Its slim footprint makes it easy to position against a wall and out of the way.

The top cradle houses the metal charging contacts. The angle aligns perfectly with the S70’s handle without forcing it into place.

Around back, a small power icon indicates where the power adaptor plugs into the stand to charge the unit.

Sliding the S70 into place on the stand feels satisfying, it docks with a soft click and begins charging immediately.

Once the S70 stand was locked in, it sat perfectly stable without any tilting.

The complete stand looks good, keeping all the attachments within reach.

While in the dock and charging the display shows the current battery percentage.

Performance
The S70 performed well, especially across hard floors. My apartment’s hardwood entryway, which collects dog hair and dirt, was easy to clean quickly. Throughout the apartment, in Auto mode, the vacuum adjusted suction based on detected debris. Max mode gave the S70 a noticeable power boost. Pet hair from Addy came up easily, and the ZeroTangle brush kept hair from wrapping around the roller.
On medium-pile carpet, the vacuum struggled. It occasionally got hung up and needed to be restarted to continue. Battery life is good but not exceptional. On a full charge, I was able to clean about 90 percent of my 900-square-foot apartment before the battery started losing power. I did switch into Max mode frequently though.
Maneuverability is excellent. The swivel head and moderate weight make it easy to navigate around furniture and pivot through tight spaces. All attachments performed as expected. The crevice and dusting tool reached into corners, the mini power brush worked well on upholstery, and the flexible hose was useful for awkward spots. Noise is reasonable. Eco mode is quiet, while Auto and Max modes are louder but not obtrusive.
Smart features added a subtle but noticeable value. The edge-sensing system boosts suction near walls, and the LED display indicates “L” or “R” to show which side is getting the extra power. The green headlight worked great, but I’m not sure why a white headlight wouldn’t have worked just as well.

During use, the LED display gave clear, real-time feedback on suction level and battery life. The digital readout was visible even in bright light.

The S70’s Auto mode adjusted suction quickly when moving from hard floors to rugs. You can hear the shift in motor pitch as it ramps power to match surface type. The S70 also piqued the curiosity of my furry roommate, who didn’t object to it as much as she has to previous vacuums.

The Max mode was my favorite option on spots with more debris, although it did affect the battery life.

With the telescoping wand fully extended, the S70 reaches under couches and low furniture. The pivot joint at the base makes maneuvering easy, even in tight corners.
Final thoughts
The Tineco Pure ONE S70 Cordless Smart Vacuum Cleaner is a thoughtfully designed, capable vacuum that performs especially well on hard floors and low pile rugs. It’s easy to maneuver, includes a bunch of different attachments, and has some cool features as well. Thick carpet cleaning is its weak point, and the battery life takes a hit when not using Eco mode. The freestanding dock is functional but takes up more space than a wall mount would. Overall, the S70 vacuum balances power, smart features, and usability for smaller homes or apartments. The green headlight and edge-sensing technology add useful touches, as does the wand’s folding joint. At $569.00, the S70 offers strong performance but might not be the best choice for every situation.
What I like about Tineco Pure ONE S70 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
- Strong suction and effective maneuverability
- EdgeSense and Power Modes smart features work well
- A bunch of included attachments
What needs to be improved?
- Thick carpet performance is poor
- Battery life suffers when using Max mode
- Freestanding storage dock occupies more space than a hanging option
