REVIEW – With my motorcycle, e-motorcycle, bike, e-bike workshop up and running, I am looking for any unique and/or well-designed bike to review, test, and ultimately mod. This year has been slow in terms of bikes sent to me to review, so I am elated to get my hands on this Qrong Thunder e-bike. I picked the mint green because it is a nice and unusual color, and I have never had a mint green bike before. I hope it looks as good as the photos on the website and performs as they say. Let’s see.

Design and features
The Qronge Thunder e-bike boasts a sturdy, all-terrain design that suits both urban and off-road use. The frame is constructed from lightweight aluminum alloy and can support a rider up to 400 pounds. It also features 26-inch by 4-inch Fat Tires, a hydraulic suspension fork, and a high-capacity 48V 15Ah removable battery that provides up to 70 miles of range per charge. The rear hub motor has a peak power delivery of 1200W. The bright LCD allows you to monitor speed, battery level, and assist level. The rest of the outfit includes a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, front and rear mechanical disc brakes, integrated LED headlights, and a wide, comfortable seat.
Assembly
Assembling the Qronge Thunder was straightforward. The bike arrived mostly assembled, but it took me a bit longer because of the summer heat and mosquitoes. When you watch the video below, you might see me spraying the mosquitoes with Raid and using a misting fan.
Performance
It is hard to speak about the Qronge Thunder E-Bike without smiling. After the relatively easy assembly, I jumped on the bike and headed out for a ride. The first thing I noticed was that the seat was quite comfortable. This was a pleasant surprise since these bikes usually come with very uncomfortable seats. The ride was smooth, the gears changed easily, and the shocks worked well even on quite rough surfaces. I did not spend a lot of time pedaling since my somewhat recent total knee replacement is still in the healing phase, and I am still being quite careful. So let’s talk about the rest. The display is bright and easy to see even in bright sunlight. The included bell is the usual garbage bell that I have since replaced, and the mirrors that were included were plastic, refused to stay straight, and when I tried to tighten them to the handlebars, they snapped. However, those are all accessories and are easy to replace. I added some mirrors to the ends of the handlebars and a rechargeable horn, and I was good to go. The front and rear lights are bright, and I like that there is a main power button underneath the bike next to the charging port and near the battery that must be turned on before the main display.
The included pedals are ok, but I may upgrade them. The bike has an aggressive look, and I was immediately prompted to mod it to its full potential. As you can see in the photos, I added saddlebags, and they look like they belong on the original bike. I also added the AOOCCI CarPlay device that I had previously reviewed and a front fork bag to hide any lengthy wiring.
Overall, this is one of my favorites of all the e-bikes I have tested. I am not saying that it is the best, but I am saying that it just fits me, is fun to ride, is built like a beast, and it will be a keeper for my collection.
