REVIEW – Many of my friends and most of my subscribers to my YouTube channel know me for my crazy OOTB DIY projects. While I apply this approach to almost everything, my main passions include eco-friendly devices and bikes, as well as motorcycles and e-motorcycles. Over the past 2 years, I have installed CarPlay devices on just about every e-bike that I own/owned, and I was just about to repurpose my Chigee AIO-5 from my Eahora Electric Motorcycle to my Honda Rebel ABS SE 500 motorcycle when I got this amazing offer to give the Chigee AIO-6 Max Smart Riding Display a try. Here is a snapshot of what Chigee sent, and the story about my experience with it.

The Chigee AIO-6 Max Smart Riding Display
The Chigee AIO-6 Max display is another great CarPlay/Android Auto display that is designed to fulfill the need for a smart motorcycle dashboard. It features the usual exceptional build quality that Chigee is known for and provides all the functionality that I need and then some. I did not include a separate section in this review for installation, because it is simple and straightforward. The front and back cameras connect using the usual bike connectors, and the wires are marked. There are only two connections to the Head Unit. The main cable includes the ground, power, and accessory power cables, and the two other cables are for the cameras. Making it simple, you mount the Head Unit, mount and connect the cameras, connect to power and ground, and you are good to go.
For my installation, I used my own extra-strength 3M double-sided adhesive tape to mount the cameras. This is not to say that the tape included is not great. However, it can be difficult to find desirable places on some models of bikes to mount cameras, so I take extra precautions to make sure that they are secure. I sometimes add zip ties for extra security. I decided to install the head Unit/Display as removable so which required me to remove the preinstalled bracket and mount the removable bracket. Chigee provided all the necessary hardware for either installation. I then ran the rest of the wires along the inside of the bike frame to the space under the bike seat. There, I connected the ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery. Since I do not like to use the accessory power option, I incorporated a switch into my design. I normally do this with all similar installations, so I can easily move devices from bike to bike. I will explain more about this in the video below.
Now on to the display. The Chigee AIO-6 Max display is bright, the touchscreen is responsive, and the functionality is second to none. Apart from the normal CarPlay options, this unit offers additional diagnostic information about the connected vehicle, including battery voltage, etc. There are too many options for me to mention here, but I will highlight some. For instance, Chigee also included the TPMS kit (Tire Pressure Monitoring Kit) so that the tire pressure is displayed for both tires. There is a remote control that allows me to manipulate the options and manage phone calls. The device functionality also supports real-time data streaming like you get from a normal OBD-II sensor (engine temperature, battery voltage, RPM), built-in sensors for GPS, accelerometer, and even a microphone.
It is worth mentioning that there is an LTE version of the AIO-6 that allows you to use a cellular SIM card, which adds several more features, including, for instance, notifications to folks you designate if you are in an accident, etc. Also, the AIO-6 allows connection and camera control with the Insta360, X5/X4, and others in the series. This is nice when shooting videos and not having to worry about being distracted by reaching for the smaller camera screen or even the Insta360 wrist remote to access functions or settings.
Overall, the CHIGEE AIO-6 Max is an amazing device for me, especially since it fulfills all my wants and needs for a highly functional motorcycle display system. In addition, its build quality, sleek design, shock absorption, and wide connectivity and expansion capabilities, IMHO, make it second to none. Well done.
