REVIEW – As a mom, I am constantly on the lookout for things that will encourage my children to get outside and take a break from the screens. However, there is so much technology, getting away is a challenge all of its own. The Isinwheel V4 children’s electric skateboard combines the fun of electronics with the joy of the outdoors. Made for ages 6-12, and up to 110 pounds, this skateboard makes a great addition to any arsenal of activities for children.

What is it?
The Isinwheel V4 children’s electric skateboard is small in size and weight, but not power. This skateboard was made for kids ages six through twelve, or up to 110 pounds. It has a kick-to-start feature that engages the power when you first start riding, or alternatively you can push a power button on the bottom. When not in use, the skateboard and remote go into sleep mode to help preserve the battery life. This V4 children’s electric skateboard can go up to 9 miles per hour and a distance of around four and a half miles. It is only 20 inches long, and 8.5 inches wide which make towing and stowing easy for anyone. The three inch wheels make for a comfortable and smooth ride. For anyone starting out, learning to ride a skateboard, or just want something on a smaller scale, this skateboard is great.

Design and features
There are a few different types of skateboard that Isinwheel offers. The one I received is the V4-250W electric skateboard with remote. It comes in a fancy neon green, and is only 20 inches long by 8.5 inches wide. It has three inch wheels that are made of a soft yet sturdy material that can handle outside conditions.
A tool is included with the skateboard that has three different sized ratchets, and also includes a small Phillips screwdriver and hex screwdriver that are stored in the handle of the ratchet tool.
While there is a power button on the bottom of the skateboard, it also comes with the ability kick-to-start. Just give an initial push, like you would an average skateboard, and you are ready to go.
A cruise control is also programmed into the remote. While accelerating push the power button once to lock onto the speed that you are going. To turn off the cruise control either push the power again, or use the toggle wheel.
Along with all the bells and whistles, this skateboard has made great use of the light displays on both the skateboard and the remote. When the power is on, the light is green. If the battery is low on the skateboard the power button blinks on and off green. When the button is red, the skateboard is in reverse. There is also a series of four consecutive lights that tell how fast you are going. The skateboard itself has color changing light along the back.
Final thoughts
Taking a break for some fresh air has never been more fun. The lights are my favorite safety feature. I can see them from almost anywhere. This skateboard is a wonderful gift for any smaller child. While my ten year old may be enjoying this the most, he has the best balance and coordination, it doesn’t stop some of his younger siblings from enjoying the ride. They love being able to sit on the skateboard to go for a ride, and I love being outside. I’m sure when the snow finally melts we will have a lot of sunny rides and happy kids.
Disclaimer: When first testing this skateboard we rode back and forth in our kitchen. I made sure everyone was wearing all the appropriate safety gear when actually riding the skateboard.
What I like most about the Isinwheel V4 Children’s electric skateboard
- The remote has a hand strap. It doesn’t stop it from becoming scratched, but it is really nice not to lose everything when they crash.
- There is a power button on the bottom of the skateboard. However, it can auto turn on if the skateboard is in motion and connects to the remote.
- You can reverse! There is a button that if held down puts the skateboard into reverse. When you are done, hold it down again and it is back to forward settings
- There is a way to go at a steady speed. You aren’t expected to hold the toggle switch the whole time while you are going. You tap the power button while going the speed you want, and it can set a cruise control on the remote to maintain the same speed. When you are done you toggle forward or back to turn it off.
- Very user friendly. My kids intuitively knew what to do, and told me what they did and didn’t like about everything.
- Small and lightweight. Being only 20”x8.5” makes it super easy to tote around or store when not in use. Plus it is light enough that my five year old can pick it up to turn it, but solid enough that I don’t feel like it will fall apart while in use.
- The remote charges with USB-C
- There are fun lights on the back. I feel much better about my child’s safety if they are riding at night. It’s also very fun and colorful.
- The top of the skateboard has a textured material that keeps your feet from sliding off while riding.
What needs to be improved?
- The remote is super lightweight which I really like, but it also seems like it is much more prone to damage. My boys have really scuffed up the remote. Everything works great still, it’s just not as aesthetically pleasing.
- When going at slow speeds, the tires seem to get caught on very small things. I couldn’t get over a dry spaghetti noodle in my kitchen when letting some of my smaller children pretend to be riding (all done with much supervision and safety, of course).
- There is a small flap over the charging port on the bottom of the skateboard. Sometimes it is difficult to keep the flap closed. It needs to be aligned just right for it to work. I worry about debris or other things getting mashed into the port.
