Design and features

This flashlight has several very handy features that are well-designed and placed. The body of the flashlight is made from aerospace grade aluminum and fits nicely in the hand. The lens on this flashlight is very large and it looks a bit unbalanced but doesn’t feel that way when you hold it. The butt of the flashlight has the controls built in, but they are also protected from accidental activation with a ridge built around them.

Setup

Very simple setup. Following the instructions, remove the insulating film from the battery lead and then charge it up using the included USB-C cable.

The recommended time is 4.5 hours, but it came with a decent charge, so it was ready to go in a couple of hours.

Performance

This is the brightest flashlight I’ve ever used. It’s so bright you have to be careful where you point it because it is quite painful. On the extended tight beam at full it is impressive. It’s enough to make the camera sensor start to complain.

Given that full brightness is a bit much for most circumstances, dialing it down makes it a little easier on the eyes and battery life.

The red and green light options are also nice to have. In a hunting situation it will definitely preserve your night vision, which is a bit bonus. I foresee using those options more for stargazing to preserve night vision, myself.

Can’t play with flashlights without a few shadow puppets.

There is also an included IR flashlight function included in this. I don’t have any IR gear for use outside, so the extent of my testing in that space was pointing it at my Wyze cams and noting that they picked it up. This is probably a more niche feature for those with specialized gear and uses.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about the included mount at first. I thought that it would be too easy for things to slide around with the aluminum body, but it works very well to hold the flashlight in place firmly without slipping. The material is such that you shouldn’t need to worry about marring the surface of your hunting gear or the flashlight unless you really were to crank down on things.

The included pressure switch is another nice hunting feature. Basically, it allows you to turn the light on/off, and dim without having to reach up and adjust the flashlight itself. A very specific use case, but may come in handy if you need it.

I used a silver Sharpie to mark the three different pressure buttons on the switch.

What I like about SPERAS TH4 Hunting Flashlight Kit

  • Great kit with carrying case, fitted foam padding, and a well-written user guide
  • SUPER Bright flashlight. I can light things up hundreds of yards away
  • Controls and buttons are well-protected. They are easy to control and intuitive
  • Durable construction and replacement gaskets

What needs to be improved?

  • Nothing

Final thoughts

This is a very well-made flashlight. The controls are well-thought out and very intuitive. I laughed the first time I stood on my deck and was able to light up the trees several hundred yards across the field next to my backyard. This is perhaps the first time I’ve ever wondered if perhaps the flashlight is too bright, but the dial to dim the brightness takes care of that. I don’t hunt at night, but if I did I can see it working very well. The included remote pressure switch is a nice addition for that use case. The red and green light options are also very nice for stargazing and keeping your night vision. Overall, I would definitely recommend this flashlight.
