REVIEW – When it comes to iPhone products, I try my best to keep what I use as sleek and minimal as possible. For years now I had been using a portable battery pack, but with Magsafe now fully utilized in my life, I decided to try to make a switch. The TORRAS Magsafe Portable Charger Power Bank with Stand looked like the right fit with it’s built-in stand and thin size.

Design and features
I ended up with both models of the TORRAS Magsafe charger, which actually worked out quite well on a trip back to the Midwest. They come in a few colors, with the 5000 mAh version coming in white, black, and grey and the 10000 mAh version in white and black only. The white one in the pictures shown is the 5000 mAh model and the black one is the 10000 mAh model.
There are a few differences, such as weight and capacity, but the other notable main difference between the two models is versatility. The 10000 mAh can be used to charge your phone as well as another device via USB-C. Not only that, you can also charge your AirPods Wirelessly with the 10000 mAh model.
When it came to charging up my iPhone, both sizes attached easily to the back via Magsafe and stayed firmly in place. Not once, despite the bigger one being notably heavier, did I feel as though it would slide off.
The ring on the back made an excellent stand in both horizontal and vertical positions. You can easily slide the ring around into the position you want to customize your angle. It might have taken me a bit to realize that I could flip the ring all the way down and use it in a tall vertical position.
While never did this, my roommate would use the ring to hold his phone easier when walking around. Both TORRAS power banks held the phone horizontally as pictured above, which worked great as a phone stand that could be adjusted to the angle you desire.
Now when it came to charging speed, neither of the TORRAS Magsafe chargers shined. They charged steadily, but even with no use, it took quite some time to fill up. The smaller power bank would charge roughly 65-70% of the phone before it ran out of juice, while the larger one could easily fill it up with a bit leftover for topping it off later.
I brought both on a plane trip and the smaller size was my go-to. Being able to charge multiple items with the larger sized one, however, was a major plus. Due to this, the larger one will end up being my travel charger, while the smaller one will be used for every day or day trips.
One thing I noticed after the first night was that it completely drained the battery on the TORRAS Magsafe charger without automatically turning off when full. I noticed my phone at 100% and didn’t think much of it, but when I tried it overnight, it was completely dead by morning despite the phone only needing ~20% charge. This led me to conclude it does not turn off automatically once full. Make sure you double press the button if you do not want it to be charging your phone.
I was surprised, but the larger of the two ended up being my favorite once I learned I could charge my AirPods on it. I’m happy to sacrifice the larger size for versatility.
What I like about the TORRAS Magsafe Portable Charger Power Bank with Stand
- Stays firmly on phone
- Stand works very well in multiple positions
- Can charge via wireless or USB-C (10000 mAh version)
What needs to be improved?
- Slow charging
- Does not turn off when phone is fully charged
Final thoughts
Overall, I loved most everything about the TORRAS Magsafe Portable Charger Power Bank with Stand, tolerating the slower charging speeds, but when it kept charging at full and would drain itself, it made using it difficult unless you watched your charge level. As long as you did so, the larger of the two is versatile and for only $20 more, I would recommend that version most if you chose to go with the TORRAS Magsafe power bank.
