Performance

The first thing I did out of the box was to charge the Soundcore Boom 2 Speaker. Once charged, I turned it on and the buttons lit up. The Bluetooth indicator flashes until a connection is made. The Bass can be turned on/off.

The Soundcore app can be used to customize the sound and lights. So, the next thing I did was to download and install the app. Here are some screenshots from the app:
App:

This Bluetooth speaker produces a nicely balanced sound and the extra bass is a bonus albeit not as booming as I expected. The speaker pairs easily and the light show is nice. I tried several genres of music and it did a decent job with all. I did not dunk the speaker in the bathtub to confirm it was floatable. I want to enjoy it some more before I take that risk.

Here is the Soundcore Boom 2 Speaker in action:

What I like about the Soundcore Boom 2 Speaker

  • The sleek design
  • The connectivity
  • The nicely balanced sound
  • The long battery life
  • The LED light show
  •  The extra bass option
  • The ease of the Bluetooth connectivity
  • It is waterproof and floatable (I did not dunk it in water)
  • The App for customization

What needs to be improved?

  • The bass is not as deep as I expected from the description, but the sound is well-balanced
  • I always prefer when an AC wall adapter is included

Final thoughts

The Soundcore Boom 2 Speaker is well-built and it produces a nice sound. I only have one, but it is nice that you can connect up to 100+ speakers. The app is nice for dialing in your preferences and provides lots of power. It is a nice value for the price when compared to similar speakers on the market.
