NEWS – Our phones are among our most important gadgets. Most of us have at least one weather app onboard. Some of us may have a half-dozen. (Guilty as charged.) We’ve reviewed several weather radios here but they only broadcast from one source. Some degree (ha) of weather watching matters to most of us. When ‘best weather apps’ articles show up on tech blogs, dozens of comments always flood in.

How about a website that tracks and compares weather app accuracy, month to month?  Forecast Advisor does just that. It’s still showing September comparisons for my area but October stats should show up soon.

I’d never heard of ‘Foreca’, but they have an Android weather app and were the second most accurate in my area for September. They were 4th for the year.

My main go-to weather apps are the top two on this annual comparison for my area.

Keep that weather radio on. The emergency warnings they bring can be life-saving. But maybe Forecast Advisor can help you discover a new weather app that performs better for your area. You just enter your zip code at the website and see the current weather, then scroll down for app comparisons. Forecast Advisor is at www.forecastadvisor.com

Keep looking up! There’s weather out there.
