Do you like the sleek look of the Mac Pro’s cylindrical case but are more of a PC person? Well, with the Dune Case, you no longer have to look on in envy. This cylindrical high-grade aluminum case is 260 mm tall x 215 mm in diameter and weighs 2.6 kg. It is smaller than standard ATX cases and supports mini ITX motherboards, standard ATX RAM and CPUs, SFX power supplies, and max GPU lengths of 185 mm.  It also has four USB 3.0 ports, one headphone port, one microphone port, two HDMI ports, one Ethernet port, two 2.5″ hard drive mounts, and includes a 140 mm case fan. The fan is located at the top of the case with vents at the bottom of the case to draw air vertically to cool PC components more effectively. The Dune Case is a Kickstarter project that will end on March 16, 2016. A pledge of $159 will get you a beautiful case either in black or gold with an estimated shipping date of July 2016. The general public can look forward to wider distribution in September 2016 (estimated).

  2. I’m sure Apple has some sort of patent on cylindrical computer cases. It does look nice but don’t think it will happen once Apple hears about this.

  3. Good looks are swell [especially for Apple, who got rich flogging techno-bling to fools] but you know, i’ve never seen actual tests on the claim that cylinder cases actually cool more efficiently. I betcha the benefits are small to non-existent.
