As technology gets smarter and smarter so do our home security systems. One example of this that I have recently come across is the Notion system, formerly a successful Kickstarter project. Like most home security systems, Notion relies on sensors, but unlike most security systems, the Notion’s single sensor is built to do the job of several types of sensors. The Notion sensor can detect:
- Light
- Motion
- Sound
- Angular rate
- Water
- Natural frequency
- Acceleration
- Temperature
The Notion system has three basic components, the sensor, the bridge and the app (compatible with iSO 8 or newer and Android 4.3 or newer). The bridge and the app allow you to be connected and monitor the sensors, letting you monitor your home from almost anywhere. Available now for the pre-order, 1 sensor and one bridge will cost you $129 from the Notion website. Other sensor and bridge packages are also available. The Notion is slated to ship in the September 2015 time frame.

Author, you spelled “iOS” wrong in the opening paragraph.
Stuff like this has to scare the hell out of the big home security companies. This is incredible.
