Barnes and Noble is offering five free ebooks for owners of any device using Barnes and Noble ebook reader software.  Owners of the nook reader qualify, as do people using the B&N ebook reader software on their iPhone/iPod touch or Blackberry.  You just bring your mobile device in, show it to an employee, and you’ll receive a voucher for the free ebook each week.  The iPad, which runs the iPhone app, isn’t mentioned by name, but it is pictured in the ad.  You can also run the B&N ebook reader software on PC or Mac computers, but you’ll only be able to bring it in if you have laptops, I suppose.  Anyway, the free book this week (through 5/23/2010) is The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.  Next week will be Storm Front by Jim Butcher.  If you don’t have the B&N ebook reader software, you can get it here.  Read more about the free book offer hereNote:  I picked up the coupon yesterday.  I had to create a B&N account to redeem the coupon, and you have to have a credit card on file to authorize the book.  If you already have a nook or a B&N reader, you may already have an account.  Just wanted you to know about the credit card requirement…
