Available in October, the Tascam PT-7 shoves three devices into one small package. The PT-7 starts with a high-speed chromatic tuner, adjustable to 7 alternate scales, adds a metronome that plays from the speaker or headphone at rates form 30 to 300bpm in six time signatures. And throws in a mono recorder that employs the internal mic to capture song ideas, listen back to a phrase or slow down a tricky passage to play along. The price will be around $99.

I already do all this with my iPhone. Plus, i have it with me at all times.
@ferris209 What about the people that don’t have an iPhone? 😉
Yeah, what if I don’t want to pay a cell phone service provider and be stuck with their contract, just because I want to because I need a metronome, want to stay in tune, or want to record something quick n dirty?
Besides, as tuners go, it’s a sure bet the tascam is more accurate.
Yes, Julie, very good point, I often forget about the other side…..those who have not yet achieved the ultimate power of owning an iPhone!
In my country we don’t have to have iphone on monthly plan. People use it like other phones (buy phone, buy sim, insert, validate, top up when you need to).
