A spare TV can earn its place at the Halloween party before anyone picks a movie. AtmosFX’s Creepy Cutouts: Skeleton Slapstick turns the paper skeletons you’d hang on a door into animated decorations that dance, strike poses and change colors.

It’s a digital collection for screens and projectors, with three short scenes rather than a box of physical decorations. AtmosFX introduced it in August as part of its 2026 Halloween lineup. The download can add something new to a compatible display you already own ahead of October 31.

Paper Poses is one of the three included scenes.

The three included scenes are “Paper Poses,” at 1 minute 30 seconds; “Scary Skeletons,” at 1 minute 16 seconds; and “Skeleton Dance,” at 36 seconds. The artwork keeps the jointed, flat look of vintage paper decorations.

AtmosFX supplies 1080p MP4 files in horizontal and vertical orientations. Its product description includes TVs, windows and walls among the display options. A TV gives the scene a defined frame, while a projector lets you make a wall or window part of the decoration. Choose the files for your intended display surface.

Check playback controls so the short scenes can keep running. A 36-second dance that stops on a menu isn’t much of a party backdrop. A looping player can keep one scene running, or cycle through a playlist if it supports that feature.

AtmosFX supplies different versions for different display surfaces.

A USB socket alone doesn’t settle compatibility. AtmosFX’s playback guide says direct playback needs support for storage such as USB or an SD card, MP4 video and a repeat or loop setting. Check your TV or projector’s manual for all three.

If the display can’t handle the files itself, AtmosFX says you can connect another playback device through a compatible video input.

The downloads arrive as ZIP files that you unpack to reach the videos. Use a computer for that step; AtmosFX doesn’t recommend downloading on a phone or tablet. You’ll need an internet connection and enough free storage for the download, then a player that can run the extracted files.

GADGETEER covered an AtmosFX decorating kit in 2017. That was a different package with a projector and accessories. Skeleton Slapstick is the decoration content, so don’t budget as though a screen, projector or projection material comes with it.

Preview the scenes before choosing them for younger guests; the collection includes scares as well as dancing.
