Huawei’s Mate 90 family spans five models, but only the Pro Max Collector’s Edition and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design support the detachable Z10 camera. The ordinary Pro Max does not.
The October 1 China event brings together the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, its Collector's Edition and the RS Ultimate Design. All run HarmonyOS 7, with 6,600mAh batteries in the two smaller phones and 6,800mAh in the larger models. Camera hardware, materials and accessory support separate them as much as screen size.
Price: RMB 10,999 (about US$1,641) for the green Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Where to buy: Check this exact Collector’s Edition at Huawei VMall. The October 1 listing is temporarily out of stock. Z10 module and professional grip are separate purchases; this is not the price of every Pro Max configuration.

Mate 90 and Pro keep the same size
The Mate 90 and Mate 90 Pro both measure 161.9 by 75.7 by 7.95mm. They share a 6.75-inch, 2832 by 1280 display with adaptive refresh from 1 to 120Hz. The standard phone weighs about 217g; the Pro is approximately 222g.
The Pro uses a dual-layer OLED panel, while the standard model uses OLED. Huawei rates the Pro at up to 12,000 nits in its 1% average-picture-level peak-brightness test.
Both smaller phones have 6,600mAh batteries. Mate 90 supports up to 66W wired charging and Pro up to 100W. Both support up to 50W wireless charging with a separately purchased compatible Huawei charger.
The chip split is Kirin 9030 for the Mate 90 and Kirin 9035 for the Pro. The standard model has 12GB RAM; the Pro lists 12GB and 16GB options. Storage runs from 256GB to 1TB without a memory-card expansion slot. A SuperCharge charger, USB-C cable and protective case are included in their listed China box contents.
Main cameras, telephoto and macro
Both smaller phones have a 50-megapixel main camera with a variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture, a 40-megapixel ultrawide and a 50-megapixel telephoto. The Pro’s telephoto adds macro capability with focusing down to 5cm.

Huawei labels the telephoto view approximately 4x optical zoom. Listed equivalent focal lengths are 88mm for Mate 90 and 90mm for Pro, against a 24mm main camera. Huawei also offers “8x optical-quality” and 100x digital settings.
Pro Max, Collector’s Edition and RS switch to a 200-megapixel f/2.6 telephoto with optical stabilization and macro capability, alongside a 50-megapixel main camera and 40-megapixel ultrawide. The telephoto’s listed equivalent focal length is 89mm; 200-megapixel high-resolution mode is limited to the 4x setting.
Pro Max and Collector’s Edition
The Pro Max specification page lists a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display, 2848 by 1320 resolution and a 6,800mAh typical battery. Both versions support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging under Huawei's accessory conditions. The regular model weighs about 234g and the Collector's Edition about 235g.

The Collector’s Edition gets Xuanwu Kunlun glass and a different raised camera ring; ordinary Pro Max uses third-generation Kunlun glass. The Collector’s Edition supports the separately sold Z10 module.

Huawei lists Kirin 9050 and 9050 Pro for ordinary Pro Max, without assigning each chip to a memory configuration. Collector’s Edition uses 9050 Pro.
The Collector's Edition has 16GB RAM with 512GB or 1TB storage. The regular model lists 12GB or 16GB RAM and the same storage capacities.
RS adds its own materials and configuration
The Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design has a glossy titanium frame, Xuanwu Kunlun glass and a choice of red, white or black finishes. At approximately 248g and 8.4mm thick, it's heavier and thicker than either Pro Max.

It pairs Kirin 9050 Pro with 16GB RAM and storage options reaching 2TB. Its 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED screen and 6,800mAh battery sit alongside the 200-megapixel telephoto camera and Z10 compatibility. The RS also lists Tiantong satellite communication in addition to BeiDou messaging, with operator-service requirements. BeiDou functionality described on the China pages is limited to mainland China and needs initial activation while a ground network is available.
The phones carry IP68 and IP69 laboratory ratings. Huawei excludes liquid damage from its warranty.
Cases, stand and Z10 module
The Z10 modular camera has a one-inch sensor and continuous 24–240mm-equivalent optical zoom. It starts at RMB 5,999 (about US$895), separately from the phone and professional grip, with dedicated fits for Collector’s Edition and RS.
The modular Brickase system has three fits: the Mate 90 case also fits Pro, the Pro Max case also fits Collector’s Edition, and RS has its own case.

The separate metal stand supports horizontal and vertical viewing. The demonstrated DFH add-on modules are sold separately. The RS Star Diamond protective case has a synthetic-leather finish; a Star Diamond case is included in the RS phone’s box.
HarmonyOS 7 and connections
All five versions run HarmonyOS 7. Huawei identifies later-update requirements for some AI features, gallery editing and multi-SIM functions. On Pro Max, Collector's Edition and RS, the four-number/three-standby feature also requires at least two of the three standby numbers to use the same mainland Chinese operator. Mate 90 and Mate 90 Pro instead list support for two numbers in simultaneous use.
All models support USB 3.1 Gen 1, but the supplied cable is USB 2.0. Faster wired transfer requires a compatible replacement cable. Bluetooth 6.0 and NearLink E2.0 are included across the family.
