REVIEW – If you had asked me a year ago if I was into gaming, I would have answered with a resounding no. Then, I got introduced to VR and became hooked. Only then did I understand the fun and relaxation that can be achieved when playing a game I like. Now that I know more about what my kids enjoy when playing computer games, I am excited to review this Abxylute S9 Full-Size Gaming Phone Controller so my daughter can enjoy playing Roblox and Fortnite without fighting with her brother for space.

The Abxylute S9 Full-Size Gaming Phone Controller features a sleek, lightweight, and compact ergonomic design. Its dimensions are 22.9 cm x 11 cm x 4.9 cm. It weighs 250 grams. It has a built-in stretching mechanism that works with devices ranging from 110mm to 216mm in length. It has full-size controls like a standard gaming controller, including joysticks and triggers, the ABXY button layout, and a D-Pad. The controller also features dual rotor motors that provide haptic feedback, a 6-axis gyroscope for motion controls, and a 3.5mm audio. The USB-C connector accommodates a variety of phones with or without cases.

Performance

The Abxylute S9 Full-Size Gaming Phone Controller offers console-quality controls for smartphones and tablets. It extends to accommodate devices up to 8.8 inches wide. Its design is like the Xbox Controller, which is great because the similarities to a standard Controller make it easy for my daughter to adapt to and use comfortably with a minimal learning curve.

While I am not much of a gamer at least not with this type of controller, I could see that all of the built-in features including the Hall effect joysticks and triggers, the dual rotor motors for powerful haptic feedback and the 6-axis gyroscope for precise motion controls, ensured that she did not miss playing on her PS5 which has similar Controllers.
This controller offers a direct connection via USB-C or Bluetooth connectivity. My OnePlus 12 Pro fits perfectly, so the direct connection was her preference. She enjoys a more immersive experience when she uses her headphones via the 3.5mm headphone jack. Her hands are small, but the Controller is a good fit. She quickly adapted to the buttons and the functions. She finds the direct connection via USB-C the most enjoyable way to play. While connecting via Bluetooth would work well when using a tablet, the phone is what she thinks is the best option.
One recurring issue is that the phone and the Controller/app disconnect when left untouched for a short while. Whenever my daughter is ready to play again, I must disconnect and reconnect the phone to the USB-C jack before the Controller works again.

Final thoughts

The Abxylute S9 Full-Size Gaming Phone Controller is versatile and enjoyable. This has been confirmed by my daughter, who only hands it back to me for as long as it takes for me to charge the OnePlus 12. I am struggling to maintain ownership of my phone. Well done.
