REVIEW – Transitioning from a decades-old IKEA desk in the corner of my cramped apartment living room to a dedicated office in my new home has been a real game-changer. As I excitedly planned my new workspace, I knew finding the right desk would be crucial and that it was definitely time for a proper upgrade. I wanted an adjustable desk to improve my posture throughout the day, but I also needed something with plenty of desk space that matched the rest of my office decor.
That’s when I discovered the Flexispot E2Q Standard 4-Leg Standing Desk. Its sturdy four-leg design, height adjustability, and range of options really impressed me. Priced at $709.99 for the configuration I chose, the Flexispot is very affordable as well. While setting it up was a bit more challenging than I anticipated, and wire management leaves a bit to be desired, the Flexispot E2Q absolutely shines as an everyday work desk. It’s so good, in fact, that I may never return to the office again! (Just don’t tell my boss.)

The E2Q is designed to provide a sturdy, stable workspace largely due to its four-leg structure, which supports up to 330 pounds. Design and features
The Flexispot E2Q 4-Leg Standing Desk has a clean, modern look that would work in almost any office setup, from minimalistic to more traditional.
With tons of desktop finishes and sizes to choose from, I went with the dark bamboo option at 71” x 35″, which fits my office’s size and design perfectly. While the bamboo gives the desk a great aesthetic, it is prone to minor scratches, so a desk mat is definitely in my future.
In terms of functionality, I opted for the E2Q’s four-leg design because I see it as a step up from traditional two-leg standing desks. I feel better with the enhanced stability, especially since I change from standing to sitting multiple times a day.
The E2Q’s motorized height adjustment goes from 28.7″ all the way up to 48.4″, and because of the four-leg design, there’s no wobble at all at the desk’s highest setting.
The control panel includes a small display, up and down buttons, four programmable preset buttons, and a memory button. I love the design of the “1” as a standing person and the “2” as a seated one because I always forget which memory setting is for which position. The control panel also has a USB charging port, which is a nice touch.
The legs and frame of the E2Q are made of durable steel and are available in either white or black. I chose black to go with the other items in my workspace. The construction of the legs and frame, along with the four-leg design, contributes to its sturdiness.
In addition to its stability, without any tweaks to the adjustable legs, the E2Q was completely level both lengthwise and widthwise right after assembly.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
Assembling the E2Q was at times frustrating, but ultimately I was able to succeed with a lot of patience and a good cordless screwdriver. The instructions were confusing and weren’t very clear on many of the steps, especially for connecting the frame to the desktop.
Assembling the frame itself was pretty straightforward, both legs are built first and then attached to the main frame.
The two motors are attached to the legs and set diagonally across from each other to provide the most torque for lifting the desktop.
The motors connect to the internal lift system via two long transmission rods.
Once the feet are attached to each leg, the frame is ready to be assembled.
This is where it got very confusing, as the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the desktop didn’t line up with the holes on the frame.
I eventually discovered that, since the E2Q can accommodate a number of different-sized desktops, the pre-drilled holes don’t correspond to every option.
The frame can adjust to accommodate these different-sized desktops by having two floating bars that sit inside the frame and can be moved horizontally to lengthen or shorten the frame.
Once I set the legs at the appropriate distance apart, I ensured that the frame didn’t exceed its recommended length.
Luckily, there are marks on the adjustable bars indicating where the limits are.
With the frame properly spaced and centered on the desktop, I was able to lock down the floating bars with two set screws on each end.
There are two sheet metal guards that protect the transmission rods on either side of the frame. Again, I was confused trying to line them up with the pre-drilled holes until I realized that it was up to me to properly space and secure them. This scratched at my mild OCD a bit, but after measuring and re-measuring several times, I installed the guards symmetrically.
Installing the control panel was easy enough since those pre-drilled holes did line up. You have the option of installing the control panel on the left or right side of the desktop.
The main control unit should be installed within reach of the wires coming from both motors.
Since I ordered a desktop that is longer than most, Flexispot thankfully included an extension cable to connect the motor furthest from the unit.
The control unit has ports for both motors, the control panel, and the power cord.
Included with the E2Q are four cable ties with adhesive pads. I used these to clean up the routing of the cables to the control unit.
The cable ties made it easy to keep all the wires secured to the underside of the desktop and out of the way of all the other wires I was about to have hanging under the desk.
The standard cable management for the E2Q is a large piece of thick fabric with six elastic loops. The elastic loops hook around six knobs that can be attached to the desktop with wood screws. It’s not a great system, due to the weight of the cables causing the fabric to sag, which you don’t realize will happen until after you’ve screwed the knobs in.
Performance
In day-to-day use, the Flexispot E2Q has proven to be a great addition to my workspace. I love the way it looks, and I especially love all of the desktop real estate it provides. Moving between height settings is as easy as pushing a button, and the motor is quiet enough to go unnoticed during calls or meetings.
I’ve set my two custom heights using the memory function and really enjoy having the option to stand during my day. I think the four-leg design was a great choice, especially because I tend to lean on the desk while standing, and it has yet to wobble under my weight. The bamboo desktop does show a little wear over time, but it’ll be manageable with protective measures like a desk mat.
I still need to address the cable management issue, but overall I very much enjoy using the E2Q daily. The large workspace looks a lot neater than having everything crammed on top of my old tiny desk, and I physically feel so much better being able to choose between sitting and standing while working.

Final thoughts
Once it was properly set up, the Flexispot E2Q Standard 4-Leg Standing Desk genuinely transformed the look and feel of my home office for the better. The variety of size and finish options makes it easy to customize to personal taste, and I appreciate the extra stability of the four-leg design, along with the extra features like the USB charging port on the control pad. Although the assembly instructions could be clearer and the cable management system leaves something to be desired, these minor setbacks are easily outweighed by the E2Q’s overall performance. Additionally, the bamboo desktop I chose might be prone to scratches, but a good desk mat can help mitigate that. At $709.99, the Flexispot E2Q offers excellent value for the features it packs. If you’re looking to elevate your workspace, this desk is a good, dependable, affordable choice.
