Design and features

I can’t say that visually these are much different than a lot of other headphones I’ve seen on the market. The shape of the cups is squarish, which sit well over my ears. The cups are well padded and the tension of the band isn’t too tight, which is great when you have a large head like me. The power switch on the headphones is a physical switch, which I think is a nice touch. The volume buttons work well and the play/pause button is also responsive. They all require enough force that you’re not going to accidentally push them with a casual touch. The active noise cancelling button on the left ear has similar tensioning and works well.

Assembly, Installation, Setup

The only required setup for the Baseus Bowie 30 Max wireless headphones is the typical initial charge and connect via Bluetooth. USB-C Charging, always a plus.

There is a Baseus app available for download that gives you some additional customization capabilities, but it’s not required to run and operate.

Performance

The sound on these headphones is great. I can’t complain about the sound quality. The app also gives you additional features that I did appreciate like additional bass boost and different EQ settings. The spatial acoustics was an interesting feature to play with because it changes the direction of the sound as you turn your head. Interesting, but I don’t see myself using it.

Baseus Bowie 30 Max

Baseus Bowie 30 Max 10The active noise cancellation has taken me a while to test thoroughly. For this price point, the noise cancellation works well. The pass-through feature does pass through nearby sound, but the leveling and range seemed a bit inconsistent and I feel like I got more ambient noise with it on than with it off. My primary use of these headphones is to block out sound, though, which they do well at.

One of the most incredible things about the Baseus Bowie 30 Max wireless headphones is the battery life. They tout a monster 65 hour battery life. In testing I just had to leave them on playing while I walked away just to see the battery level move at all. It was well over 2 weeks of use before it even started getting into the range of needing to be charged.

What I like about the Baseus Bowie 30 Max headphones

  • Comfortable ear cups
  • Good sound quality
  • Amazing battery life

What needs to be improved?

  • Multi-device Bluetooth connectivity. They have a hard time detecting which device is primary

Final thoughts

Overall, the Baseus Bowie 30 Max wireless headphones are a good, comfortable set of headphones. My biggest issue was when they would bounce between different devices. I had to turn Bluetooth off on one device while using them because they kept trying to connect while I was playing music on the other device. I’m willing to overlook that for a good set of headphones, but it is annoying when it’s trying to decide who to connect to and bouncing back and forth between devices. If you only have one primary device you connect to, it won’t be an issue. I recommend these with that one caveat. If you want a set of headphones that sound good, have great battery life, and use with one primary device these are fantastic.
