OtterBox- iPhone17 case review

REVIEW – I recently decided to try something different than the Apple phone that I have been rocking for the last five years. However, I quickly discovered that I just really don’t like change. I have heard so many things about OtterBox and was super excited to be able to review one of their cases. The company was awesome, and surprised me with my top two choices and a screen protector.

Design and features

The screen protector was the easiest one I have ever installed. They basically make it idiot proof. Of course, there is still a possibility of screwing it up, but the frame that they provide made everything extremely easy. All you need to do is make sure your screen is clean, and place the easy applicator guide on your phone. Luckily, I had just received my new phone, and hadn’t even taken it out of the box yet. I didn’t want to deal with fingerprints or dust, so I made sure the very first thing I did was put on the screen protector. After placing the guide down, you simply pull the plastic tab out, which exposes the sticky side, and run your finger down the middle of the glass. I love watching as the glass adheres to the screen. So satisfying.

The cases all have awesome reviews, there are a ton of different colors, and styles. I had a very difficult time narrowing it down. I knew that I can’t live without my mag safe. I have gotten way too accustomed to placing the phone down and everything magically is charged when I pick it back up. Plus being able to have a magnetic spot in the car for your phone is so much easier than having it slide around everywhere.

The first case that I tried was from the Sole series. It has a higher toughness rating, and the ability to absorb the impact if it is dropped. I am definitely not the most graceful person, so being able to ease some of my concerns when it comes to accidents is always a win. I knew I was getting the green iPhone, and wanted something to compliment that color. The sole case has high-ridge treads around the edge, and a great textured back. The case didn’t feel like it was going to fly out of my hands. In addition, they provided a small lanyard strap on one of the corners. I love to be able to hold onto it in more than one way. The texture of the case, made it stand out more than many of the other varieties of cases that are out there. However, after two weeks of constant use, the edges are discoloring because I favor black pants. It doesn’t look terrible, and even matches the rugged design, but is nevertheless still discolored.

The second case I got is from the Symmetry series, and is clear with glitter, which they call Stardust. I love the simplicity and pretty factor with this case. Previous cases I’ve owned have only stayed clear for a brief time. I know with clear cases it is concerning about the color changing after time. This case also has some discoloring, but because of the look of the phone, and how it blends with the screen, it doesn’t feel like it has changed color much. Another thing I worried about was how smooth this case is. Not like the other case I received, this one did not have the ridges, but I have not had problems at all with the phone slipping out of my hands because of the case. The clear feature really showcases how pretty the colors are on the new iPhones.

I’m just going to trust that the testing in durability the OtterBox provides is true and reliable. I’m not one to go out and risk my iPhone. I’m just hoping that if anything ever does happen, the OtterBox case will protect my phone.

Final thoughts

OtterBox has so many different styles and patterns available in their cases. It was really hard to decide which ones or my favorite. I am always looking for a good deal, and have a hard time spending full price for a lot of things. However, when it comes to phone protection, spending a little extra is totally worth it. Whether it’s a phone or iPad, Samsung or Apple, OtterBox offers something for you. OtterBox knows how to protect your phone, without losing the ability to access buttons. I love my cases.
