Sometimes I stumble onto an offer for something unique that intrigues me enough to get excited. This is exactly how I felt when I received the offer to test and review this TopMate ES35 3 Wheels Foldable Trike.

The TopMate ES35 3 Wheels Foldable Trike is a well-designed and well-built device. It features 3 wheels, a foldable seat, and a frame. On the handlebar, there is a bright LED display, a brake lever with the handbrake on the left, and a keylock on the right. The throttle is also on the right as usual, along with a Drive/Reverse selection switch. The handlebar support is also adjustable.
Assembly, Installation, Setup
I cannot think of any e-bike I have tested that is easier to assemble than the TopMate ES35 3 Wheels Foldable Trike. You only need to attach the wheels which take 2 bolts, the seat and the handlebar and you’re done and ready to charge and ride. Here are a few photos of some of the steps during my assembly process:
Assembly took approximately 20 minutes and then it was time to plug it in and charge it. I let it charge overnight.
Performance
The TopMate ES35 3 Wheels Foldable Trike performs much better than I anticipated when I first looked at it online. I am scheduled to undergo knee replacement surgery soon, and currently walking more than a couple of blocks results in extreme pain. My family is very active with outdoor activities, including my daughter who is in multiple soccer leagues and wants daddy at as many games as possible. Also, about a week ago, we went to a fall festival shown in the photo below. I was able to use this scooter and attend with them. We spent about 5 hours moving around the park where the event was held and despite my weight of 222 pounds, this scooter moved me around like it could handle way more than I weighed. The reverse function came in very handy, and the speed options allowed me to match my need for speed. I did have the add-on accessory with the light and horn attached, but I am not a fan of it. I plan to add a more permanent headlight and horn. And, maybe I will add some LED lights just for fun. 🙂
Another feature I like is the “handbrake” that allows me to lock the scooter in place by locking the brakes. This is great when I park it next to me and need it to stay put.

Overall, the TopMate ES35 3 Wheels Foldable Trike has worked out very nicely for me. it has provided me with mobility I would not otherwise have during this medical challenge that I am experiencing. Sometimes, when riding it, I feel like it might topple, so in my quest to test it, I pushed it even harder, and it remained steady and stable. The battery lasts for a long time between charges even though I am slightly over the recommended maximum weight capacity, I like the clear and attractive display and how portable it is. Well done!!

Final thoughts
The TopMate ES35 3 Wheels Foldable Trike is not only fun to ride, but is more helpful than I ever imagined, While I wait to have surgery, I carry it in the back of my truck and I can attend outdoor festivals and events with my family that I would not have been able to if I had to walk any considerable distance. It is not perfect, but it works and it works for me!!
