CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Today, I have five Kickstarter crowdfunding campaigns that I think are worth a look and possibly your money for a pledge/pre-order. If you’re into EDC gear, ergonomic office furniture, and magic power cables, then grab your favorite beverage, your credit card, and keep reading!

Nobel 2.0 kneeling chair

First up is a chair from the Ukranian company VILNO, which has been designed to promote better posture and spinal health.

What is it?

The Nobel 2.0 is an upgraded version of VILNO’s original Nobel kneeling chair (which we’ll be reviewing soon).

Why do I like it?

As someone who sits in front of a computer ALL day long, ergonomics are important. I know I could use improved posture and better lower back health. I like the Nobel 2.0 kneeling chair because it is designed to take the effort out of sitting up straight. It also offers active sitting, which means that your core is active the whole time you’re sitting on the Nobel 2.0 kneeling chair. Hey, you might even burn extra calories while sitting in this chair and who wouldn’t like that? But seriously, the Nobel 2.0 has been updated with a U-shaped seat cushion and adjustable knee pads for even more comfort than the original Nobel chair.

The Nobel 2.0 campaign ends on 04/18/24 and they have already surpassed their funding goal of $5,000 by well over $100,000. You can pre-order a Nobel 2.0 kneeling chair starting at $249. After the Nobel 2.0 kneeling chair campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in June 2024. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

WIZPR RING

With this wearable gadget, you can control your smart home Matter-enabled devices, access ChatGPT, Gemini, and more on your finger—and you won’t even need to take your phone out of your pocket.

What is it?

The WIZPR RING is a wearable smart ring with a built-in microphone. It allows you to speak your questions and commands without needing to say trigger words.

Why do I like it?

I like the WIZPR RING because you don’t have to say a trigger phrase like “Hey Siri” or Hey Google.” You just hold the ring close to your mouth and the proximity sensor will turn on the microphone so that you can speak into it. Actually, you can whisper into it so that those around you won’t hear your commands and questions, which sounds convenient when you don’t want to type on your phone, but there are people around. The answers to your questions will go through your earbuds.

The WIZPR RING campaign ends on 05/15/24, and it has more than met its funding goal of $10,000. You can pre-order a WIZPR RING starting at $139. After the WIZPR RING campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in July 2024. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Mix 2 Titanium EDC ruler

This is a new EDC gadget and the 9th successfully funded campaign from Titaner.

What is it?

The Mix 2 could be called a multi-tool because it’s a Titanium ruler, caliper/depth gauge, wrench/spanner, and fidget toy.

Why do I like it?

I like the Mix 2 Titanium EDC ruler because I can definitely see myself using the ruler and caliper features for my day-to-day analog journaling, drawing, and Gadgeteer activities. Since it’s made of titanium, it’s not going to fall apart, and it looks like it would be a lot of fun to use. Watch the video below to see what it can do.

SerpBlade: Titanium Pocket Utility Folding Scalpel Knife

Here’s a utility knife that you can sharpen as easily as replacing the blade.

What is it?

The SerpBlade is a pocket knife format utility knife that is compatible with several replaceable scalpel blades.

Why do I like it?

I like the SerpBlade because I don’t have to learn out to sharpen it. I can just buy a pack of inexpensive scalpel blades and swap them out as soon as they become dull. I also like that it’s a flipper style knife because it gives the SerpBlade some fidget toy fun. And it has a liner lock that keeps the blade safely open while you’re using it.

The Power Mole

This gadget uses witchcraft or science (your choice) to transmit power through glass!

What is it?

The Power Mole is a power transmitter that can deliver up to 5V/10 watts through up to 30mm of glass or anything non-metallic.

Why do I like it?

I like the Power Mole because it looks like it would be a really convenient way to get power outdoors when you don’t have a power outlet. It won’t let you run heavy power-intensive gear, but it has been designed to work for gadgets like outdoor security cameras, string lights, and more.

Where can I find more info?

The Power Mole campaign ends on 04/20/24 and they have more than met their funding goal of $4,000. You can pre-order a Power Mole starting at $59. After the Power Mole campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in May 2024. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
