REVIEW – There is a lot of content production that goes on in my household. Between the photography, videography, and related social media content creation for various online platforms, we have a lot of lighting needs and in some cases a need for good portable lighting. We use several types of lighting and we have found that good Ring Lights can be useful for several types of shoots. I am excited to try out these Lume Cube Ring Light Mini and Ring Light Pro lights.
What is it?
The Lume Cube Ring Light Mini combines premium edge-lit technology with a sleek, lightweight design and a soft, flattering light output. It is powered by USB-C and includes an adjustable C-Clamp for mounting to a desk or table or you can use the included tripod legs.

The Lume Cube Ring Light Mini is 12″ in diameter and made of plastic. If facing the front you can see the light ring that is encased in black plastic. In the bottom center of the ring there is the 1/4-20″ mount for the phone mount of any lightweight camera with that size mount. On the outer bottom of the ring case, there is a flexible mount for the light stand.
The photo below shows the back of the ring light that shows the phone mount and the thumb screw to attach/detach the mount. Below that is the LED. At the bottom of the ring, you can see the brightness and color temperature controls on the left and the USB-C power port on the right. The on/off power switch is at the top left of the back to the left of the LED. The rest of the photos below show the light from various angles.

The Lume Cube Ring Light Pro is made of plastic and measures approximately 17″ in diameter. On the from you can see the light ring and the black plastic casing.
Look at the photo below, On the back you can see the top edge that has 2 cold shoes with a 1/4-30″ mount in the center and the thumbscrew to attach/detach it. Below there is the LED in the center that displays the Color Temperature, Brightness, and battery level. on the left from top to bottom, there is the power switch, 2 USB-A ports for charging your phone or other USB devices, and the DC power port. On the right, there are the COlor temperature and brightness controls and the channel button for pairing the remote. The adjustable mount for the light stand is at the bottom of the ring.
Performance
Bitrh my wife and I use photography and videography for our various workflows so we decided to divide and conquer to test the Lume Cube Ring Light Pro and the Ring Light Mini.
To test the Ring Light Pro, my wife used it outdoors to shoot photos and videos for her Instagram and YouTube channels. After using it for a few days she indicated that it was easy to set up and use for the various angles that she needed and that it provided very good lighting. She also loved the adjustment that she could get for the intensity and the color temperature, and the fact that it has a built-in battery so she can go anywhere without worrying about power is a winner. She used the Ring Light both with the phone mount and her iPhone 14 as well as just as a fill light.

As soon as I saw the Lume Cube Ring Light Mini, I knew that it would be of great help in my home studio as a center light that I was missing when recording my Podcast. I installed it using the floor standing included floor standing tripod and it worked great.

Both of these ring lights are great with just the right features needed for portability and a quick setup and shoot. The light they produce is great and if you are lucky enough to have both the Mini and Pro like I do, then you really have the power to create since light is such a critical component for both photography and videography. These are great lights for Vloggers.

Final thoughts
Both the Lume Cube Ring Light Pro and the Ring Light Mini are great right lights that offer portability and versatility that serve the needs of beginners and pros. They are lightweight and offer enough adjustment in positioning and light to support numerous creative needs. They work well for the content creation that my wife and I work on. We give birth lights a well done!!
