NEWS – I’m still relatively new to 3D printing, and I get excited whenever I see a new printer hit the market. Especially when it’s from a company with which I’m familiar. The first printer I reviewed was the Voxelab Aquila S2. It is an excellent machine that sparked my love for 3D printing. Voxelab’s newest printer, the Aquila D1, is a mid-tier 3D printer with many high-end upgrades.

  • 5-step quick assembly
  • 300º High_temp nozzle
  • 25-point auto-leveling
  • X-axis, Y-axis linear guide
  • Z-axis Dual Screw
  • Dual-gear direct drive extruder
  • 4.3-inch touch screen
  • PEI-coated spring steel print bed

And much more. One of these upgrades, in particular, caught my interest.

The Aquila D1 uses X-axis and Y-axis linear guide rails instead of pulley guide rails. This upgrade reduces machine shaking, making printing more stable and printing details finer. It would be interesting to see how much the linear rails would improve overall print quality.

The Aquila D1 also offers faster printing with speeds up to 180mm/s. With these upgrades and more, the Voxelab Aquila D1 looks like a formidable new entry into the ever-growing world of 3D printers. The Voxelab Aquila D1 3D printer is available from Amazon for $399.
