While OPPO might not be a well known brand outside of Asia, I’ve been watching their expansion outside of that region and their products after owning an OPPO Find 7A over the last couple of months. Rather than make “run of the mill” phones, they’ve been trying to add functionality and hardware to differentiate themselves. Their latest release, the OPPO F1, is being described as their “Selfie Expert”. From a hardware perspective with a 8MP, 1/4″ sensor and F2.0 front camera (for comparison the Apple iPhone 6s has 5MP/F2.2 and the Nexus 5 has 5MP/F2.0), selfie shots should be better due to faster shutter speeds and higher ISOs.
But the hardware is no good without good software, and from experience I know that the OPPO’s OEM camera software works pretty well. The camera automatically loads “beautify” filters when you swap to the front camera and things like the Palm Gesture Selfie function (gesture to activate the shutter) and the Screen Flash functionality (the whole screen flashes to illuminate your face) helps to take the best selfie shots possible. Of course I’m sure no matter how “fool proof” a camera is people will still load blurry, grainy selfie shots 🙂
And the interesting thing is that the F1 is only $299AUD (approximately $215USD). For more info visit oppo.com

I have this phone and it’s excellent for that price. Can’t ask for more… runs well, loads apps really fast. Screen is very good and the display is bright enough. I compared it with my friend’s oppo r5 which has a 1080p screen and there was not much noticeable difference. I recommend it.
