Product Requirements:
Device:
up to 6 memory cards, including Memory Stick, Smart
Media, and Compact Flash
If you’ve ever owned a CD wallet, CD player case, or (for us older kids) a
cassette case, then you know Case
Logic. They also make PDA and notebook PC carriers. Looking around my bomb
shelter I call an office, I have at least a half dozen different kinds, from
Koskin (imitation leather) to Nylon to plastic, all of them rugged and highly
functional.
The new millennium has brought us smaller and smaller devices and media, so
protection and storage needs are only increasing. For example, an SD/MMC card
has exposed connectors and a postage stamp size. The Case Logic DMC2 Digital
Media Case is an affordable solution to protect and secure them.
The Case Logic DMC2 Digital Media Case — packaged and in-hand
Pulling back the Velcro latch reveals 6 pockets (3 on each side) with that
classic Case Logic non-scratch textured surface. Each pocket is large enough to
hold a Compact Flash card.
The DMC2 open and closed — full of cards
I have found that when closed, it can still hold smaller cards (like SD or
Memory Stick) without slipping out. They’re are not quite as secure as CF cards
by themselves — having a larger card on the opposite side helps. However it
took a pretty vigorous shaking to dislodge them. Not exactly the most
responsible way to treat your digital media, but a good test in case you drop
it.
The DMC2 has a retail price of $5.99, but you can find it for as low as $2.95
online. I have also seen them in a popular computer store for $3.99 in the same
section as PDA accessories. So $3-6 bucks isn’t bad for a common place to store
your digital media cards.
Price: $5.99 US (retail), as low as $2.95 online
Pros:
Durable and solid construction
Stores all digital memory card sizes
Compact in both size and price
Cons:
Velcro closure will eventually wear out
Smaller cards could fall out if shaken too hard

The version I bought today, 7/30/03 of Case Logic’s DMC2 does not use velcro, but instead hs a zip around that keeps cards in.
