Timex Atelier put its GMT24 M1a in Pepsi colors, and the watch is on sale now at timex.com. The Swiss-made GMT runs a 24-hour scale split blue over red under the crystal, with a red GMT hand reading against it. Reference TW6A20600 on the stainless steel bracelet runs $1,450, and stock was live Friday afternoon. A second version on a black NBR rubber strap, reference TW6A20700, runs $1,350.

No rotating bezel carries the colors. The two-tone ring sits fixed under the glass-box sapphire, blue across the night hours, red across the day, and the full scale is lumed.

Red over blue on a GMT traces back to the first Rolex GMT-Master of the 1950s, and the pairing still reads as travel at a glance. Running the ring under glass leaves the colors suspended over the dial edge, clear of the knocks a bezel takes.

Atelier sits at the top of the Timex range, designed under chief creative officer Giorgio Galli and made in Switzerland. The line launched with the Marine M1a diver in fall 2025, and the GMT24 M1a followed weeks later in black with an orange GMT hand. This release keeps the watch and changes the colors, the version buyers had been asking the brand for.

Black enamel dial with a date at 3

Timex fires the enamel to set the dial’s finish, and it comes out deep and glossy in a way printed dials don’t match. Applied markers carry Swiss LumiNova in-fill, and the date window sits at 3. The minute track angles up the outer ring, so it stays readable from the side.

Faceted hands carry the local time, and the GMT hand is a slim red arrow that reaches the scale. After dark the markers, hands and the whole 24-hour scale glow.

Landeron L24 GMT with about 40 hours of reserve

A Swiss-made Landeron L24 GMT automatic runs the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 28 jewels and hacking seconds for exact setting. Power reserve runs about 40 hours, and Timex rates accuracy at plus or minus 15 seconds a day.

The exhibition caseback shows the movement off, with Giorgio Galli’s name etched around the window.

Setting runs office style: the red 24-hour hand adjusts on its own at the crown, so you park it on home time and read it against the two-tone scale while the main hands carry local. The date and the GMT hand share the crown’s middle position, one direction for each. Landing somewhere new means resetting the main hands instead of jumping the hour hand, and heavy travelers should weigh that at this price.

Track a home office or family in another zone from a desk, though, and this is the simpler setup: one hand parked on home time, read at a glance.

Skeletonized 40 mm case on a tapered bracelet

Cutaway case sides give the Atelier its skeleton look, with a gunmetal IP-coated mid-case set between brushed steel pieces. Dimensions run 40 mm across, 48.11 mm lug to lug and 12.7 mm thick. A glass-box sapphire crystal with three anti-reflective layers covers the dial, the custom crown screws down, and water resistance is 100 meters. That rating covers travel and swimming without diver bulk.

Bracelet links taper toward a butterfly deployant clasp, and the links self-adjust as your wrist swells through a long flight. Quick-release spring bars pop the bracelet off without tools, and lug width is 20 mm, so straps swap easily. Timex also sells the black NBR strap on its own for $195.

The Amazon alternative is a Mido

Amazon does not stock the GMT24, and the closest buyable comparison is Mido’s Ocean Star GMT at $1,310. It plays the complication the other way: the Caliber 80 movement jumps the local hour hand in one-hour steps when you land, holds 80 hours of reserve, and pairs a rotating bezel with 200 meters of water resistance. The trade is size and finish: 44 mm across, a fabric strap at this price, and no enamel dial.

At $1,450 on the bracelet, the GMT24 M1a undercuts most Swiss automatic GMTs and gives up the jumping hour hand to get there, and the case stays at a wearable 40 mm. Buy the bracelet version. The rubber-strap version saves $100 for anyone who prefers the strap.
