The CIVIVI Estoc’s blade is almost as long as its handle, and the green version still weighs just 3.31 ounces. That’s a 4.1-inch Nitro-X7 drop point on a slim, two-tone flipper that looks more like a fancy letter opener than a chunky pocket brick.

Blade and Build

Open, it stretches to 9.13 inches. Closed, it measures 5.03 inches, so this is not one of the compact EDC knives that vanish in a coin pocket.

The blade is 0.13 inches thick with a hollow grind, which keeps it thin behind the edge for clean slicing. A liner lock holds it open, and caged ceramic ball bearings sit in the pivot so the flipper tab should snap it out without a wrist flick. The tip-up clip swaps sides too, so lefties aren’t stuck carrying it backwards.

Which Version Should You Get?

Green, unless the satin look is the whole reason you clicked.

The green model pairs black G10 with green canvas Micarta and puts a black stonewashed finish on the blade, with satin flats for contrast. The silver one swaps the Micarta for silver fiberglass fabric, goes fully satin on the blade and adds 0.27 ounces. CIVIVI also gives the two blades different hardness ranges, 60 to 62 HRC on green and 61 to 63 HRC on silver, so the choice is a little more than color.

Wrap-Up

At $87, the green one is my pick. It’s lighter, it costs less, and canvas Micarta tends to get grippier and darker the longer it rides in your pocket, which is the kind of aging a knife like this should do.

For one that ships today, CIVIVI’s Vyrent C25037-1 has a shorter 3.48-inch Nitro-X7 blade.

This one’s for you if you want a long, slicing blade that weighs next to nothing in a pocket. If you need something stubby for a keychain or a desk drawer, skip it and look at a smaller folder.
