A small camera is easier to bring along when its lenses stay small, too. Sirui’s new Swift 20mm F2.4 and 40mm F2.2 give you two distinct ways to shoot a day out: a wide view for buildings and scenery, and a tighter view for people, street scenes and details. The Sony E versions weigh a combined 417g without caps, and each lens costs $149 on preorder.

Both have autofocus, a clicked aperture ring, an AF/MF switch and a customizable Fn button. You can change the aperture or switch focus modes on the lens itself instead of reaching into a camera menu.

Pick the view you’ll actually use

On a full-frame camera, the 20mm is the choice for fitting more into the frame when you can’t step farther back. Think of a narrow street, a building across the road or a landscape with something interesting close to the camera. Its 0.2m minimum focusing distance lets you get near a foreground subject while keeping the wider surroundings in the composition.

The 40mm gives you a less expansive view for everyday photographs. It’s a practical starting point if you want one small prime for walking around, photographing friends or picking out details without including everything on either side. Its maximum aperture is F2.2, and it focuses down to 0.4m.

These are fixed-focal-length lenses. Buying both gives you two perspectives, not a continuous zoom range. At $298 for the pair before any checkout charges, you could start with the focal length that suits most of your photographs and add the other when you need it.

Your camera’s sensor size changes that framing, too. The lenses cover full frame, but Fujifilm X cameras and many Sony E cameras use smaller APS-C sensors. On Fujifilm’s 1.5x crop format, the 20mm and 40mm give roughly the same angle of view as 30mm and 60mm lenses on full frame. The 20mm becomes more of an everyday wide lens, and the 40mm becomes a tighter option for people and details. The same 1.5x framing comparison applies to Sony APS-C bodies. The focal lengths themselves don’t change.

Small lenses with controls you can feel

A clicked aperture ring gives you tactile stops as you change the setting. Alongside it are a manual-focus ring, the AF/MF switch and a Fn button that supports focus lock or a custom function. Both lenses use STM autofocus motors, have nine aperture blades and stop down to F16.

The E-mount versions are both 62.3mm long without caps: 207g for the 20mm and 210g for the 40mm. The L-mount 20mm is 60.3mm long and weighs 212g; the L-mount 40mm is 60mm and 215g. Their barrels are about 69.5mm across.

Each comes with a lens hood and front and rear caps. Both take 58mm filters, so one polarizer for outdoor photographs or ND filter for video can move between them.

Check your camera before preordering

Sirui’s store offers both focal lengths in E, L and X mounts at $149 each. They’re preorders, with shipping expected to begin November 6, rather than lenses promised for immediate delivery. Shipping is calculated at checkout.

Camera compatibility needs a closer look for some Sony owners. The official chart marks video support as partial for the a6000 and a7 II, and both photo and video support for the a9 II as still being optimized. The chart doesn’t explain the partial-video limitation. If one of those is your camera, confirm the function you need before ordering. X-mount body compatibility and X-specific dimensions aren’t included in the published tables.

A zoom is still the simpler option when you need to reframe quickly without changing lenses. This pair fits a more deliberate setup: leave one on the camera, keep the other in a small bag, and swap when the scene calls for a different view. You don’t need both on day one.
