OPPO will unveil the Find X10 family in China on September 22. At first glance, the new official images look like the usual pre-launch tease: fresh colors, big camera circles, and a reminder that there’s a Pro Max on the way.

But there’s a more useful story hiding in the Find X10 Pro Max design. OPPO appears to be building two different kinds of camera phone this time. The regular Find X10 is meant to be the capable all-rounder. The Pro Max is being shaped around people who may actually use a teleconverter accessory and want a phone that leans harder into photography.
That’s a much better reason to pay attention than a press image alone.
The standard Find X10 is the restrained one. Its cameras sit in a compact vertical island, with a slightly darker panel around it to give the back some contrast. It will arrive in Clear Orange, Ice Blue, and Light Titanium. It isn’t plain, but it’s also not trying to look like a miniature camera body every time you pull it from a pocket.
OPPO hasn’t skimped on the headline camera numbers for that model. The company has been promoting two 200-megapixel cameras on the Find X10, and Notebookcheck reports an 8,000mAh battery and 0.99mm display bezels. Those are promising specs, but they don’t settle the questions that decide whether a camera phone is good. We still need to know how it handles moving people, dim rooms, skin tones, zoom, video, and the occasional scene that makes phone processing fall apart.
The Find X10 Pro Max takes a more deliberate route. Its large square camera block holds three lenses, while the flash and a separate color sensor sit in their own narrow section beside it. That layout is doing more than making the back look busier.
According to Notebookcheck’s report on the launch materials and early access, the separate sensor housing is intended to keep the color sensor clear when OPPO’s new orange-accented teleconverter is attached. The outlet says that avoids an obstruction issue it encountered with the previous Find X9 Pro. If that plays out in everyday use, it’s the kind of boring-but-important fix photographers notice. A camera accessory isn’t much help if it blocks a sensor the phone relies on.
It also explains why the Pro Max looks so different from the standard X10. In Moon White, the textured glass, vertical OPPO and Hasselblad branding, and the oversized camera area are a direct visual signal: this is the model for someone who wants their phone to act more like a small camera system. Warm Orange and Light Titanium will also be offered, but Moon White is the one that makes OPPO’s Hasselblad partnership impossible to miss.
The two top models share the same listed memory and storage ladder, from 12GB/256GB to 16GB/1TB. That’s worth noting because it keeps the decision from being just a simple storage upsell. If the Chinese store listings hold through launch, buyers will be choosing between different camera approaches, not being pushed to the Pro Max just to get the largest storage option.
There’s a third phone, too. The Find X10 E is the smaller commitment in the family, with Ice Blue and Light Titanium finishes and listed 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB configurations. OPPO is also using the event to introduce the Watch S2 and Enco X4 earbuds, so September 22 looks like a broader ecosystem launch rather than a one-phone announcement.
For U.S. readers, the biggest caveat is still sitting in plain sight. OPPO has confirmed a China launch, not a U.S. release, global schedule, or local price. Importing a China-market phone can bring carrier-band, warranty, software, and service tradeoffs, so it would be premature to treat either Find X10 as a ready-made recommendation here.

Still, the Pro Max has given us a real question for launch day: does moving that color sensor and designing around the teleconverter create a better shooting experience, or is it mostly a slick way to sell a bigger camera bump? That answer will take hands-on testing. The design, at least, suggests OPPO is trying to solve a practical accessory problem instead of simply piling on another 200-megapixel badge.
