The leather is soft, supple and very well finished.Β This sleek and slim satchel is held closed by anΒ envelope style flap featuring Pad & Quillβs signature bookmark pull-through closure system with hand-pounded copper rivets for added style and strength. This simple, yet effective low-tech closure solution is much less likely to fail than any mechanical clasp or button system.
The leather sectionsΒ are held together withΒ parachute-grade nylon stitching done in black. All theΒ stitched lines are straight and precise. The top of the bag has anΒ easy-carry handle or the bag can be carried under the arm or in a larger carryall.

As its name describes, the Valet Luxury Laptop Bag for MacBook 12 is obviously engineered to carry Appleβs smallest retina display MacBook. Pad & Quill alsoΒ says this slipper caseΒ can hold the 9.7β³ iPad ProΒ as well. But in actuality, this P&QΒ leather briefcase isΒ 12.25β³ x 9.25β³ Β x 0.6β³ in size and can accommodate any 12-ish inch ultra-slim laptop/tablet or smaller.
Truth be told, (sadly) I do not have either the 12β³ MacBook nor iPad Pro. But this Pad & Quill bag fits my Microsoft Surface Pro 4, 12β³ Samsung Galaxy Note Pro, and iPad Air 2 very well.
Despite itsΒ slim design and minimalistic profile, the Valet leather bagΒ can also hold power cables, smartphone (in the secondary pocket), a few pens and a bit of paperwork too.

How well does this fit the Surface Pro 4? I am very interested in this piece, but I do not want something in which my SP4 is going to rattle around in. If it is a bit loose, do you believe it will allow me to put my SP4 in a neoprene case before sliding in to the Valet?
