Scan your old 35mm photo negatives to an SD card

I don’t have very many 35mm negatives, but I know that my Dad has a lot of them. I’d love to get copies of all the old family snapshots from my childhood. The ImageLab FS-5T12 12 MegaPixel slide and negative scanner looks like a great solution. It can scan up to 2575 x 1932 pixels …

i-gotU USB GPS Travel Logger (GT-120) Review

I recently reviewed the ATP GPS PhotoFinder mini photo geotagging module. I liked the concept, but found some issues with usability. Today I have a similar product for you. It’s the i-gotU USB GPS Travel Logger GT-120 from Mobile Action. It’s smaller and even easier to use than the PhotoFinder. Let’s take a look.

The FlexRing 6400 from SR Electronics is a ring flash with 64 oversized (32 in the ring and two flexible arms with 16 each) super-bright white LEDs. The bendable arms allow you to position the light where you need it. I would love one of these for my macro shots, but the price is $359.95, …

FOZI Pocket Tripod

When I saw the ad on The Gadgeteer a few weeks ago for the FOZI Pocket Tripod, my thought was that this was the perfect gear bag tripod. I don’t shoot a lot of photos, so did not want a big or expensive tripod, so this low-cost credit card tripod seemed perfect.

Epson PictureMate Dash (PM 260) Portable Photo Lab

It’s strange, but in all the years that I’ve been using digital cameras, I find that I rarely print out my photos. I usually just copy them into a folder on my computer and look at them from time to time, or post some of them to my flickr account. Although I have a perfectly nice full-sized color printer (Canon Pixma iP6000D), I have always found it a pain to use for small 4×6 sized snapshot prints. That’s why I was curious when I was approached by Epson to review their PictureMate Dash PM 260 Personal Photo Lab photo printer. I wasn’t sure if this printer would make me excited to print photos, or if I would continue to snap and file as before.

If you are a photographer or snapshot enthusiast, you probably often find yourself in situations where a tripod would come in handy. This is especially true when you wish to include yourself in a group picture. The problem is that lugging around a tripod everywhere you go can be somewhat inconvenient. What if you had a tripod that stowed easily in a gear bag and could stick to almost anything? The MonsterPod claims to do just that. Let’s see if the claims are true.
