REVIEW – adding a measuring tape to your EDC is a great idea because you never know when you need to check a measurement while shopping in a store. But no one wants to carry a huge clip-op tape measure on your belt. That’s where the TEC Accessories Ti-Tape Titanium Tape Measure is the perfect alternative. Let’s see if it measures up!

Design and features
The Ti-Tape is made of grade 5 titanium and available in a stonewashed finish like the one that was sent to me or in two anodized finishes if you’re feeling a little fancy.
Slightly bigger than a quarter (31.5 mm [1.24″] diameter x 9.70 mm [.38″] wide), this is one of the smallest tape measures that I’ve ever seen. The only branding is TEC on the end of the tape.
It features a 3-foot long retractable spring steel tape with easy-to-read black on white markings in both inches and metric.
I have extended and retracted the tape dozens of times without any jamming. It’s nice to know that the tape can be replaced if needed. TEC sells replacement tapes on their site for $6.95.
Put it on your keychain
The Ti-Tape tape measure fits easily in a pants pocket or your bag, but you can also put it on your keychain using the included keychain clip. To add the clip you have to remove the cover from the tape measure using the included Allen wrench.
The clip is placed between the housing and the cover. Once the cover is tightened in place, the clip can slide partially around the tape measure. It kind of turns the Ti-Tape into a pseudo fidget toy.

Final thoughts
I love EDC gear and I love ultra-small but useful gear even more. The TEC Ti-Tape fits that category. It’s tiny, made of titanium so it’s not going to corrode or crack like small plastic measuring tapes. A 3ft tape might not sound long enough, but I think it’s just about right considering the size of this little guy. I’m not giving you mine, so here’s how to get one for yourself.

Is the tape also made of titanium or is it only the housing ?
