During the recent Florida hurricane, I spent a lot of money on a gas generator to run our fridge and a couple of fans. …I wish they’d stop calling large batteries ‘generators’. This doesn’t generate electricity, it stores or transports it.
The “generator” with no generator included. This is mildly infuriating that they’d advertise as one.

these large battery packs are very convenient
the power they provide is generally safe for your devices
however they don’t generate power
at the same price point you can find 1kw generator/inverters
for 2-300usd more you can get 2kw gensets which won’t run your home but will run my camper’s AC or microwave…they are surprisingly quiet and their inverters provide safe filtered power for your devices
at home I use an old generac with a quiet nagano motor (very old) it runs a freezer, two fridges and a couple of fans for about eight-ten hours on five gallons of gas
I would never run any of my electronics with it except when using a ups as a filter
This is a superb product. I bought a Jackery 240 recently, and it could do well in ensuring backup power for my off-grid life. We usually spend at least a couple of days outside a month. If you are also such an outdoor enthusiast, get a Jackey, not a costly Goal Zero. It is worth the spend, for sure.
