I’ve been staying away from keyboards for a while, since I haven’t really found anything new that caught my eye- until now: A slim, metal-bodied keyboard that looks like something from Apple, yet can pair with four devices and features backlit keys.

At first glance, it really looks like any other Bluetooth keyboard out there.  What’s the big deal?  The MultiSync Premium Slim Keyboard can pair up to four Bluetooth devices.

If you’re a Mac user and you dislike the standard white keycaps, rejoice!  Finally, black keys with the appropriate MacOS commands.

It’s a little hard to photograph, but there are three tiny LED indicators for Caps, Connect, and Power.

The bottom has four tiny feet and seems to be made of the same aluminium-like metal as the rest of the keyboard.

I wasn’t a fan of the arrow keys.  Instead of the “inverted T” layout, the up/down buttons are half-sized.

When you look from the side, you can see some similarities between Apple’s own wireless keyboard.  It’s very low profile.

On the back edge is a physical toggle switch for keyboard power.

In the middle of the top edge is the micro USB charging port.

Unlike the Apple wireless keyboard, the Kanex keys are backlit.  Here’s the Logitech K811 (top) and the Kanex (bottom).

I was pleased to find such a low-profile keyboard that was built out of premium materials for a change.  The Mac/iOS keys worked without issue.  I’m still not a fan of the up/down keys since I’m a creature of habit, but that’ll just take some time to adjust.  Maybe I just don’t like white keys, but the MultiSync Premium Slim Keyboard for Mac & iOS is a real treat if you like black backlit keys.

  2. The arrow keys are actually in the same layout as the Apple Aluminum Keyboard. They just made the Right and Left arrow keys larger since there is extra space.

I agree it’s not how I’d do it but for finger memory it should be the same.
