You wake up and find yourself alone in a dark room with only a fuzzy memory of being grabbed and shoved into a White van with no windows. As you wait for your eyes to adjust to the darkness you realize that you are handcuffed and your feet have been zip tied. Do you panic? No… because on your finger is a Titanium Escape Ring. Although it looks like an ordinary polished wedding band, the Titanium Escape Ring conceals a flexible handcuff shim pick with built-in saw teeth. Using the shim, you are able to open the single locked handcuffs around your wrists. Once your hands are free, you then use the hardened 316 stainless steel saw blade to cut through the zip tie around your ankles.

You hear your captor rattling a key in the door, so you quickly scramble to hide behind it. At just the right moment, you slam the door into the bad guy, knocking him to the floor and giving you just enough time to pull the door closed behind you and locking it securely with the key that was left in the lock. You’re free, the bad guy goes to jail and you live happily ever after.

Made in the USA, the Titanium Escape Ring is available in five ring sizes: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 (you may need to order one size larger than your normal ring size). It’s available from Shomer-Tec for $69.

  2. We carry these at villainsattic.com.

The ring does have a groove on the inside that the saw fits into. As long as you order a ring size bigger than you typically wear you, you don’t notice the saw inside. It is one of the coolest items that we carry.

  3. I need this item. All the times I wake up in strange places, with people trying to ransom me off for money. I currently keep a similar blade stashed (well lets not go into WHERE I stash it). This looks like a much more comfortable alternative.

  4. First, let me say I am not affiliated with the company,in any way, shape or form.

I came to this particular website because I was looking to replace my Ti “Survival” ring, but could not remember what it was called, where it was sourced ect (Uniquetitanium.com is the original place it was sourced from,BTW).

I can tell you, first-hand, that the ring is not only extremely well made, but yes, comfortable. The saw teeth do NOT cut into your finger in any way. This is coming from a guy who NEVER wears/wore rings previously.

As for the smart comments, there ARE people who need and have had to use these. Anyone deemed “High-Risk” for capture, from Special Operation Forces Soldiers,Aircrew, Other Governmental Agencies with personnel in foreign countries…yeah, the world is bigger than Mommies basement,or a studio apartment jammed with gaming computers, smart guys.
This ring was originally issued to me in a unit I was previously in,however,I lost it somewhere one day,and it has been nagging at me ever since to get a replacement. Since I am no longer in that particular unit,I will be purchasing it myself.

I know of someone,a former teammate, who actually had to use his ring to cut through zip ties on both his hands and feet, while in a approx. 12’x12′ ‘Out building’,in a region of Colombia.

Just because “You” can’t use something, doesn’t make it stupid, and doesn’t mean that others cannot use it,or even NEED it, because of what their jobs entail,or because of what their jobs USED to entail (still a high capture/ransom on former SOF & other personnel) and/or their family members.
Hell, even Bank Presidents,Heads of Companies ect have had kidnapping threats against them and or their families.
And they can even choose to go thru courses to learn to survive and escape if captured (Google “Civillian SERE Course” ).

I don’t see the need or use for a $10,000 ‘Gaming’ computer set up, for weekly tanning sessions, or whatever the case may be. Doesn’t mean I come on places like thee and make fun of the product,or of anyone who may want to use such things. This is America..you have the right to pend your money on whatever the hell you want. And, if you can’t think of anything constructive to add to the discussion of the product, don’t add anything.Just let it go.Think before you hit the ‘send’ button.

  5. @SOCCENTSFC,
Like you said “This is America” and this IS mostly a tech site… and most of us wouldn’t have a need for such a ring as you may have or the money for a “$10,000 ‘Gaming’ computer set up” or “for weekly tanning sessions”.
The one thing we do have is a sense of humor here and if you had visited this site frequently over the years you would have known this. You should read the comments for the kangaroo type iPad pouch thingy a few years back.
