myledIf Tim Cook would ask me what changes I would make to the iPhone, it wouldn’t take me long to blurt out my top 5 list. Better battery life, widgets, dedicated call answer/end button, dedicated camera shutter button and a notification LED. I don’t think Tim cares what I think or want, but I’ll soon be able to mark one of those features off my list if the myLED Kickstarter project gets fully funded. Seeking $18,000 in pledges, the myLED is a small LED adapter which plugs into the headphone jack of the iPhone or iPad. It blinks in customizable patterns to let you know when things have happened on your phone. The iPhone is great, but not having a method to easily see if you’ve missed a call, have a new email, txt message, etc, without waking up the phone’s display is a pain in the posterior. $15 will reserve a myLED with a handy earbud cord clip, which holds it when you’re using the earphone jack with your headphones.

  2. actually there are led notifications on an iPhone. under accessibility. maybe you should look into the phone more beige writing an article

    1. @Scott I think you’re referring to using the LED camera flash on the back of the phone. That will work as long as you put the phone face down… and who does that?

  3. Julie, you can use the volume buttons to take pictures – would adding an additional, dedicated shutter button be useful?
