hila ipod e1263393669297The Ritmo Advanced Pregnancy Sound System connects to most audio devices such as iPods, MP3 players, iPhones and Blackberries with a universal stereo plug. The expectant mother wears a fashionable (have you ever wondered who decides what is and is not fashionable?), lightweight belt around her pregnant belly. The belt has four speakers and a controller the size of a deck of cards. Plug an iPhone into the controller and start whispering sweet nothings to that cute little bun in the oven. This gives new meaning to the question “can you hear me now?” The Ritmo system can be purchased for $129.99.

  2. Oh my, always complaining. But this fits so much to the “pet remote” thingy some days ago.
Are female iPhone users so dumb or techno-addicted, that they think their unborn need that thing to hear them!?! Or do the manufacturer only think they are…?

I know it is hard times, and sites need frequent updates. But I get the feeling that “The Gadgeteer” is degrading into a consumer electronics freakshow vomiting press releases (as so many other gadget sites). After times of “The craziest USB devices” now comes the “Most queer iPhone accessories.”

I will stop ranting now, and apologize in advance for hurt feelings, but I miss the times of the in-depth rewievs of new Palm hardware and apps, when you knew what to buy and what to avoid after reading “The Gadgeteer”. 🙁

  3. I agree with Jo. I am tired of the news releases or deals announcements. They add nothing, they make me wonder about this site’s impartiality (are you being paid for these promotions?), and it dilutes the review portions.

    1. @Daniel and Jo I’m paid to post the Deal of the Day posts, but the other news items are just things that I (or my writers) find interesting. Sorry that you don’t enjoy those types of posts. Feel free not to read them and just read the reviews. 🙂

  4. I will admit the mommy tummy speaker idea is hokum. Sure. I don’t have a cat so I have no need for a cat box alternative, either.

But there have been countless items I’ve learned about from the little posts here and there, and I like reading about them.

  5. I bought one and only 3 of the 4 speakers work. And the sound level was DOUBLE the safe level that Nuvo quoted to me – great product. Deafen your kid before birth!!
