This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Black & Decker DustBuster. Wow, time really flies when you’re sucking up dust. Would you believe that I only just got a DustBuster (VPX DustBuster) last year? I was waiting for them to perfect the technology 😉

To celebrate this milestone, Black & Decker is offering to send a 14.4V cordless Cyclonic Hand Vac to one lucky gadgeteer reader. Find out how it can be you…

  1. Gadgeteer Comment Policy - Please read before commenting
  2. I wouldn’t mind reading reviews of any kind of home gadget — blenders, vacuums, clock radios… even though these things aren’t sexy, it’s pretty traumatic when you need a new whatever-it-is and have to wade through thousands of conflicting Amazon reviews. I trust the Gadgeteer. 🙂

  3. If I had to pick one home tech type gadget I’d like to see reviewed, it would be some kind of fancy plastic bag cyborg that stands by the door and unloads your groceries before sorting and storing your plastic bags for re-use.

If that is not available, some kind of roomba which hasn’t been reviewed before.

  4. Cranky Media Guy

Robots, robots, robots. Actually, in lieu of robots, how about video-related gadgets? Thanks.

  5. roomba’s – I need to ge one and watch my 5 lb dog in action. He’ll probably jump on for a ride?

  6. vacumes! Is a dyson really that much better? Bring it to my house with a lab….that will put it to the test!

  7. Find and review a CHEAP and SIMPLE TO USE VCR replacement for recording over the air TV channels. I have a 90 year old friend who wants to record one hour of soap operas each day. I haven’t found anything that is reasonably priced, has a digital tuner, and is simple enough to use so that a non-techie can use and rely on it.

  8. My request for a home gadget is anything kitchen related, from new espresso makers, cooking utensils, to knife sharpeners. I know we are all technocentric, but sometimes you need food and caffeine to complete a project, and why wouldn’t a cool new toy in the kitchen make that easier.

  9. How about smart kitchen gadgets or a VCR replacement that doesn’t take a rocket scientist to run or afford.

  10. I have been trying to find a bluetooth and or Wi Fi keyboard for my Samsung Omnia keyboard. I would guess that lots of folks would like the opportunity to be more effective using MS Word or emailing using thier Mobile Phones. Seems like there were several keyboard options out there a few years ago and now virtually none.

  11. Hi Julie,
    Great giveaway…

I would actually love if you could review some more cleaning devices (for the house/ wanna be techie moms here (LOL)) like home steam cleaners; like bissell steam cleaners (small and compact) and other small, but durable and use worthy items like this. I don’t know what would do the best job for the money.
    -barbarabaker 🙂

  12. I would like to see a simple home security system review or some type of review of a GPS system to monitor on-line the whereabouts of various family members.

  13. Your website is pretty comprehensive about reviews. I would begin to add more reviews on DIY and Open Source Hardware, like Arduino and Review Software as well. Some individual products I think you could focus on are Asus Eee PC and the Violet Nabaztag, both are products that are development platforms that are functional in their everyday use.

  14. Hi Julie:

I know this will seem strange, but how about a review of some of the new gadget features available for flat window or tubular skylights. For example, Velux has electrically tinting glass in their skylights, or Solartube has a dimmer switch that can control the amount of light their tubes allow into a room.

  15. I would like to see a review on air purifiers. If they really work to purify the air and which one is the best.

  16. I’d like to see a review of bluetooth or wireless speakers. I would realy like to see what outdoor speakers would best suit my needs.

  17. Any type of gadget that would make life easier for my 78-year-old mom. Things that take off lids, reach high places and grab, open cans without use of hands, something that “walks” the groceries up the stairs…

  18. i don’t know if they even make them, but how about some gadgets that have to do with laundry. geez i must be behind in the times because i can’t think of any gadgets for the home. thanks 🙂

  19. I’d love to see some home automation gadget reviewed that lets me talk to my home, like “Home, turn up the heat” or “Home, open the curtains” (and actually turns up the heat or opens the curtains).

  20. By random draw, Michael (#22) is the winner of this contest. I’ve sent Michael an email and will wait 48hrs for him to respond. If he doesn’t, I’ll pick another winner.

  21. Woo Hooo!! Thank you very much Julie!!!
Now I need to go make a mess so I can clean it up with a new DustBuster!!! 🙂
