Fellow Star Wars fangirls/boys, we are one step closer to finally getting ourselves an actual lightsaber!  Wicked Lasers has given us the very first “lasersaber” (cough, lightsaber, cough).  The saber attachment  is compatible and fits around  any of their Spyder-3 model lasers.  It’s comprised of an aircraft-grade aluminum hilt and 32″ polycarbonate blade.  When the saber is powered on, the laser’s light is diffused and distributed evenly across the blade.  The power on/power off effect is gorgeous, if the video demo is any indication.  The power of the laser light is great enough for it to be seen pulsing and glowing even in direct sunlight.

Lucasfilm is not affiliated with these, hence the lasersaber name–and the lack of any sound effects.  And as the site repeatedly warns, lasersabers are not meant for sparring and protective eyewear must always be worn while the saber is in use.

The lasersaber grip and blade cost $99.95, but does not include the Spyder-3 laser.  If purchased together, the entire unit ranges from $389.90 to $1069.90 through Wicked Lasers.

I don’t know enough about Star Wars to make lots of witty remarks about Han Solo and Jabba the Hutt, but you might like this iPhone 4/4S case if you do.  The Han Solo in Carbonite case is from zazzle.  They start with a Speck Fitted Hard Shell Case for iPhone 4/4S and add a design to the fabric coating.  The case allows access to all sensors, ports, and controls.  It works with iPhone 4 or 4S models from Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.  It’s $51.40.

Check out this cute audio player in the shape of two of our all time favorite Star Wars characters R2-D2 and C-3PO. The R2-D2 shaped player has a 2GB capacity, that will allow storage of up to 500 songs which can be played with or without the C-3PO shaped earphones. There aren’t many extra details about this product, but from the image, it looks like there’s a color LCD display built into the back of the player for media navigation. If you want to listen some Cantina Band tunes, you can grab one of these players at ToyS R Us for $44.99

Playing CDs never seemed so dangerous as when Darth Vader plays them for you.  Hammacher Schlemmer offers this Darth Vader CD Player – just lift his helmet to insert a CD.  There’s also an AM/FM radio with telescopic antenna.  A digital display and buttons on the base let you tune in a radio station or set the playback order of songs on a CD.  The device has built-in speakers; it also has a headphone jack and an audio-in jack so you can use other audio sources.  It seems to run only on 6 C batteries – what, did you really think the Sith Lord would use AAA batteries?!  The CD player is $69.95.

Oh, the references abound.  Ice world of Hoth.  There isn’t enough life on this ice cube to fill a space cruiser.  Frozen in carbonite.  My joints are almost frozen.  Now you can have just the right addition to your cantina cocktails for that Jabba the Hutt party you’ve been planning with the Han Solo in Carbonite Silicone Tray or the  R2-D2 Silicone Tray from Entertainment Earth.  $9.99 each and expected to be available in July (which is like…now).  Laugh it up, fuzzball.  You know you want some.

I originally saw this over on CNET.com and thought it newsworthy. LEGO just announce that it will be releasing a limited edition Star Wars model: Darth Vader’s personal flagship, the Super Star Destroyer EXECUTOR. This 3,152 brick model will be the longest Star Wars Lego model ever, measuring 50 inches in length. This behemoth will go on sale Sept 1 for $400.

The main reason I want this new LEGO set, is that last Holiday season I found/bought a used, original Star Destroyer. And much to my wife’s chagrin, used our dining room table (for several weeks) to assemble the nearly 4000 piece monstrosity. The part that made it so fun was that nearly every person that stepped into our home those weeks took the time to add pieces/time/effort to the project. Who knows, might even evolve into a annual tradition :) .

Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar??

Seriously?  Really?  Has nerdery come to this?  Either that or this is the penultimate gift for that hard-to-buy-for nerd in your life.  If nothing else, it’s one heck of a conversation piece as well.

There are those individuals who will think this is, arguably, awesome…like my husband who pointed it out to me.  Just like the Star Wars cookie cutters at Williams-Sonoma (that I will admit I bought) and the Star Wars pancake shapers. (Hey, I had to draw the line SOMEWHERE.)

Made of ceramic and fully Lucasfilm Ltd licensed, this cookie jar is go to accessory to fully outfit your kitchen.  Roomy at 12″ x 12″, this is sure to hold a lot of cookies or my famous Tribble Cakes.  Yes, I will admit that I have attended Star Wars/Star Trek screening parties and did bring my totally awesome Tribble Cakes which disappeared almost immediately.  This jar is (I’m told) awesomely detailed and let’s face it…not everyone has one.

I found the Death Star Cookie Jar for sale at ThinkGeek.com for $49.99.  It sounds a bit pricey but trust me…you’ll pretty much pay this anywhere for any kind of decent ceramic cookie jar, womp rat sized exhaust ports or not.

For a long, long time now, in households far and near, a battle has raged over whether young padawans would be allowed to play with their parents’ movie-realistic and super-expensive Force FX lightsaber replicas, or be relegated to the clunky, much cheaper toyish versions found at toy stores across the Outer Rim (and here on Earth).  Via StarWars.com, Hasbro has recently announced that in summer 2011 they will be releasing the Ultimate FX Lightsaber.  These elegant weapons will feature a progressive light-up LED blade, authentic sounds and a more realistic look.  Maybe the coolest feature is that they will be sized for kids, not adults.  A good idea, this is.  Initially available in Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader models with approximate retail price of $34.99.  Anyone besides me going to lay down your Republic credits and outfit your padawans with one of these?

To celebrate 30 years since the film hit theaters, customers with Android devices running Android 2.1 or higher will soon be able to get the Empire Strikes Back app from Android Market™.  The app, only for Verizon Wireless customers, allows Jedi Masters to browse, preview and download Star Wars content related to Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.  Verizon Wireless customers can access premium Star Wars content for a one-time charge of $2.99.

The Star Wars mobile app will have the following features and content:

The DROID™ R2-D2™ by Motorola will be available for $249 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.  Customers will need to subscribe to a Nationwide Talk plan or a Nationwide Talk & Text plan (beginning at $39.99 monthly access) and an Email and Web for Smartphone plan (beginning at $29.99 for unlimited monthly access).  Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.
