Mouse

Protecting my mouse from scratches hasn’t been something that has ever occupied my mind, but the folks at Moshi think different… Their new MouseGuard product has been decided especially for Apple’s Magic Mouse, to protect its sleek surface from scuffs and scratches. In addition to protecting the surface of the Magic Mouse, it has also [...]

I’m always on the hunt for spacing-saving, lighter-weight gadgets for my gear bag.    I’d been trying out a few different travel mice when a colleague at work showed me a “little dinky Bluetooth mouse” he had just bought, which turned out to be the IOGEAR Bluetooth Optical Mini Mouse.  It was even smaller than the [...]

You’re probably saying “do we really need another mouse?”.  These were my sentiments before I received the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 (it is a mouthful).  The device does have a hook that makes it a reasonable investment.

The Fit-U mouse from Rainbow is the first mouse I’ve seen that has the ability to change from large to medium size by replacing the top cover. The covers are available in different colors and the mouse is switchable from 800, 1600 DPI. The Fit-U is offered in wired and wireless versions and is currently available [...]

The Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 (hereafter referred to as “Natural Mouse”) would make any elephant nervous!!  Like any good computer professional, over the years I have gone through a boatload of mouse products, from touchpads to trackballs, wireless mice, corded mice, travel mice, Bluetooth mice, laser mice, and even a few pointing sticks.  [...]

Love the Apple Magic Mouse but hate the super-flat design?  This simple fix just might be the trick. For $10, the Magic Mouse, Fixed is a simple white palm rest that attaches to your Magic Mouse with a suction cup.  That’s it. Does it work?  I’ve got one on order and hope to find out soon!

No not that kind! This is the Air Mouse, (DMDeanmark), another item in helping to prevent repetitive strain injury caused by over-mousing. It’s wireless and the web site indicates that you can “interchangeably touch type or use the AirMouse without having to remove the mousing device from your hand.”  Didn’t see any demos of it [...]

To be honest, I have not used a mouse pad in years at either home or work. I walked through my floor at work and found that about one out of 20 were using a mouse pad. With the advent of the laser mouse and the roller ball a thing of the past, mouse pad [...]

Are you all about an ergonomic workspace? Me, I’m a slouching, crossleg sitting, traditional mouse and keyboard using geek. That doesn’t mean that I don’t ‘think’ about trying alternative input devices though. I happened to run across the Emotion Trackbar Ergonomic Mouse and it seems more unusual than most. It has two 1000 dpi optical [...]

The Jelfin ball shaped mouse has a soft gel covering and has been designed with ergonomics and comfort in mind. I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t look very ergonomic to me. Although it might be soft to the touch, it seems like it would be uncomfortable to curl your hand over it. What [...]

This entry is part 3 of 3 in the series Gadgets for cold hands

The idea of the ValueRays/IGMProducts Warm Mouse Pad is to provide some heat to your mouse hand via the USB ports on your PC.  It also touts a 4-port USB hub.  It is sold through ValueRays (the same folks who provides the Warm Mouse which I use every day and can endorse).  But you can [...]

The Cyber Snipa Silencer Mouse is a fully customizable laser gaming mouse that has been designed specifically for pro gamers. Its DPI can be adjusted on the fly from 100-5000 and it has advanced macro features that allow you to record macros, which can then be assigned to any of the 9 customizable gamer buttons. [...]

I’m extremely happy with my new 27″ iMac (quad-core i7) because is fast and quiet. I wasn’t sure how well I would adjust to the wireless keyboard and the new magic mouse. I’m so accustomed to a full sized keyboard and Logitech MX Revolution mouse, that both felt really awkward to use at first. I [...]

They stole my idea.  But since I’m pretty pathetic with mechanics and electronics not to mention legal situations at least now I can buy one of these.  The ValueRays Warm Mouse III ($29.95) and its companions the Warm Mouse Pad, Warm Mouse Blanket and Warm Keyboard Pad can provide some well needed infrared heat now [...]

Robin sent this to me this afternoon and I thought it was worthy enough to share with all of you. Do you suffer from cold hands? I sure do. Here’s a neat solution that can actually kill two birds with one stone. It’s the ValueRays Warm Mouse. It’s a regular USB mouse that heats up [...]

If you have an HTPC (Home Theater PC), it can be a pain to navigate your media from your couch. Sure, you can use a wireless keyboard, but they take up space and can just be awkward to use. The new GlideTV Navigator has been created to solve that problem. It’s a palm sized wireless [...]

With an enthusiastic nod to the original 80’s TV show and toys, Takara will soon release the Transformers Device Label line of functional tech gadgets that transform into heroic Autobots and evil Decepticons.   Fans will recognize Ravage, the panther-like Decepticon who originally transformed into an audio cassette (remember those?), and has now been updated to [...]

The Arc Mouse is stylish, simple AND functional.  The Arc made my Microsoft is a laser mouse that carves out the mid-section to provide a sleek minimalist design.    It’s less substantial than a normal mouse and may not offer the ergonomics of other mice, but it fits the fingers well enough for regular use.

Like a lot of us, I travel for work fairly often, lugging my rotator-cuff rending Lenovo T60p (with extended life battery) and its builders-grade power brick through airports and hotels.  Because of this, I am rather fanatical about accessories that can help me save time, weight and space, both on my daily grind commute and [...]

The Targus for Mac wireless mouse is a slightly misnamed but interesting 2.4GHz 9 button “scroll wheel” mouse with one surprising trick – it uses a touch sensor instead of a wheel. It’s about the only neat trick this otherwise compatible USB/Wireless mouse has. Plug it into any fairly recent machine with a USB port, [...]
