Without music life would be a mistake. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche I could not agree more. Not a day goes by that I have not listened to music during part of it. I enjoy an eclectic mixture of country, rock, smooth jazz, R&B, easy listening, old time Blues, Bluegrass, and more. It’s not unusual for me [...]

Whenever Apple updates one of their products, it always seems to create a lot of buzz. When the third generation iPod Shuffle was announced a couple of weeks ago, the buzz was almost as audible as a hive of bees. Why so much attention for a sub $100 MP3 player that doesn’t even have a [...]

Due in April at Target stores, the DRA107 from Dexim is an AV dock for iPods and the iPhone. Stream your audio and video content to your TV while your charge the batteries on the device. It also comes with an IR remote. The price doesn’t seem bad either at $69.95.

Unless your car has an integrated iPod / iPhone dock, pretty much the only other ways to listen to tunes through your vehicle’s speakers is with a line-in connector or an FM transmitter. Line-in connectors mean cables. FM transmitters are wireless. Most people probably won’t argue with me when I say that anything wireless is [...]

If you’ve always wanted an iPod speaker system / docking station that looks like a ghost, then this is your lucky day! Speakal has just released the iBoo. It’s available in White, Blue and Red. It has 3 speakers, a built-in subwoofer and 15 watts of sound.

How would you like some bling with your tunes? The Elton John “Starburst iPod” has been created by designer Laban Roomes of Goldgenie and Sir Elton John to raise awareness and funds for his AIDS foundation. Each iPod has color co-ordinated Swarovski crystals embedded into it by advanced laser technology and only 100 are available [...]

The GoStudio from Belkin appears to have been around for a few months, but this is the first that I’ve seen it. It’s a portable (sorta… it looks kind of bulky though) WAV file recorder that records directly to your iPod. I like the funky dials and switches.

This was a first for me….Altec Lansing‘s Docking Audio project manager, Steve Schlangen asked if we could discuss the inMotion MAX (iMT702) prior to my review. I enjoyed our discussion a great deal; we talked about the iMT702′s capabilities, industrial and functional design plus a few words hinting at the future. It was a nice experience talking with a person involved in the creation of a great new tech product. Steve’s pride and excitement about the MAX came through load and clear.

Here is my quick look video review of the InMotion iM9 iPod speaker system from Altec Lansing.

If you prefer your desktop to be as uncluttered as possible, one of Griffin’s

Along with being an avid tech-guy, I am also a die-hard sports person as well.
I enjoy exercising or working out daily; to including running, weight lifting,
tennis, basketball, etc. When I workout, running and weight lifting in particular,
I prefer listening to music (to get me through the pain and suffering). iStik
promises a better way to have your music with you while working out…

Gadgets that wirelessly transmit audio from one place to another seem to be pretty popular these days. Case in point – the two reviews we recently posted here: the SoundCast OutCast Wireless Outdoor Speaker and the EOS Wireless Home Audio iPod Speaker System. The product I’d like to tell you about today has approximately the same features, but comes in a smaller package and seems to be marketed towards teens. It’s the i2i Stream from Aerielle.

Are you a fan of podcasts? For those of you that are not in the know,
podcasts are pre-recorded
audio or video ‘shows’ that cover a wide variety of subject manner. These
digital files were first created for the Apple
iPod, hence the
name podcast. iPod owners that use iTunes, have an easy to use interface for
finding and downloading these shows to their computers and / or iPods.
Zune owners have a
similar ability, but owners of other digital audio players are not so lucky.
The CastGrabber comes to the rescue with a
standalone device that allows you to download podcasts into most USB equipped
MP3 players (even iPods), without the aid of a PC.

Ever dream of pumping your iPod’s tunes to multiple rooms in your home? Setting up a whole house audio system can be a daunting task though. Running speaker wire to all the rooms and purchasing speakers can take a lot of time and money. I don’t know about you, but just the thoughts of running speaker wire makes me tired. There has to be an easier way right? What about a wireless system that is relatively inexpensive and takes just minutes to setup? The Eos Wireless Home Audio iPod Speaker System is one such solution.

I was looking for a good home solution for the iPhone when Julie offered to let me review the T612 from Altec Lansing. I have had very good luck with Altec Lansing products in the past and the T612 didn’t disappoint.

Are you the type of person that sacrifices perfection to buy one gadget that can do multiple things, but is the master of none of them. Or do you prefer to buy the best gadget for each task? I fall somewhere in the middle of those two scenarios, but want a multi-tasking device to be a master of all ;o) The PowerTune All-in-One iPod Battery Pack / Speaker / Case / Stand from macally is a four function device. But is it the master of all them? Let’s find out…

The Smart Backup Battery for iPhone / iPod by Richard | Solo is a great accessory for those who travel or need additional power for their iPod or iPhone during the day. It is definitely small and light enough to have in your laptop bag whenever you leave the house… just in case you need a little extra juice on the fly.

A few months ago or so, Arriva created a new listening device for Apple’s second and third generation iPod shuffle – the “clip”
model. Rather than dealing with a cord that can get tangled up while you’re working out or cleaning house, Arriva’s given us a
pair of wraparound-style headphones that attach directly to the shuffle.

Is your car missing an auxiliary input for audio? Yeah, mine too. If you tire of listening to the same tunes on the radio, you have two choices for playing your audio player’s tunes through your car speakers. If you have a cassette player in your car stereo, you can use a cassette adapter. These are easy to use and very inexpensive. The only issue with them is the face that the spindles spin while music it is being used, causing extra noise. Yuck. The other alternative is to use an FM transmitter. If you have an iPod or iPhone, the Incharge Auto FM transmitter from XtremeMac is one such solution.
