If you much prefer the over-the-head type of headset, skip this review.  I’m one of those people.  I wear glasses and I never found the behind-the-ear style compelling enough to try.  But try I did.

“Sophisticated Elegance” is what Callpod calls their Vetro Bluetooth headset.  According to Callpod, vetro means “glass” in Italian.  That raised my eyebrow a bit.  I’d never seen a Bluetooth headset that looked like this before, so I had to give it a try.

As the parent of a preschooler, I know I’ve seen things like this before.  But none of them had epic names like the “Galaxy Beetlestar”.  This I had to see.

The BlueAnt Q2 bluetooth headset is billed as “the best sounding headset ever built”.  Well, that’s a tall order.  Most bluetooth headsets I’ve tried range from merely acceptable, to rotten.  How does the BlueAnt Q2 fare, and what extras are packed on board?

It’s no surprise that the Saddleback Leather Co. is a Gadgeteer favorite to carry your oodles of shiny gizmos.  But what if you don’t carry much around at all? Recently I’ve been trying to pare down what I carry with me to a bare minimum.  I’ve ditched the laptop for an iPad, and the computer [...]

“Blow Your Mind.  Not Your Ears” was the tagline that caught my attention. In the 1980s, I was always seen walking between high school classes wearing my skinny ties and jeans with a portable cassette player.  At one point, in an effort to improve my listening experience, I even had a battery-operated portable 5-band graphic [...]

The NewerTechnology NuGuard is a minimum bulk snap-on case for the iPad that provides a hard shell backing in a one-piece design.  Let’s take a closer look.

When it comes to headsets, I’m really picky.  In 2004 when I started playing on-line co-op games with my younger brothers in-law, I shopped around for various stereo headsets with microphones for gaming.  They were all either too uncomfortable, or had poor outgoing audio.  Eventually, I took drastic measures and made my own, and I’ve [...]

The Plantronics Explorer 395 is the company’s newest reasonably priced bluetooth headset.  Now before I go any further, to put this review into full perspective, I’m also the Moderator at HowardForums for all things Bluetooth.  I sadly own more headsets that I have holes in my head, and every new headset that comes out gets [...]

So you just bought an iPad.  What do you carry it in?  Thinner than most netbooks, much smaller than most laptops, you are no longer confined to gi-nor-mous bags if you want to carry just the basics. When the iPad was announced, I immediately set out to find a suitable bag.  As it turns out, [...]

I tend to recharge my cell phones over night, whether I really need to or not.  I charge everything on my desk, which happens to double as a nightstand.  As you can imagine, this gets pretty cluttered pretty fast, once you add bluetooth headsets and other gadgets. In an effort to combat this cable clutter, [...]

I first learned about the LOK8U nu.m8 GPS locator from a Gadgeteer post earlier this year.  I was intrigued. I’ve had friends who have lost track of their children in crowded places.  While it’s never happened to my 4-year old son yet, and I consider myself an attentive parent, I want all the help I [...]

Love the Apple Magic Mouse but hate the super-flat design?  This simple fix just might be the trick. For $10, the Magic Mouse, Fixed is a simple white palm rest that attaches to your Magic Mouse with a suction cup.  That’s it. Does it work?  I’ve got one on order and hope to find out soon!

Many digital cameras feature face detection, even smile detection.  But what about Buddy and Fluffy? The FujiFilm Finepix Z700-series digital camera features Pet Detection.  Billed as the world’s first, the Pet Detection camera, it can detect up to 10 dog or cat faces at a time. How does it work?  More info after the jump.

In the mid 1990s, my best friend and I took a trip to DisneyWorld in Orlando.  Every time we returned to the parking lot, we faced a familiar scenario:  We couldn’t find our rental car.  Simply too many cars!  Adding insult to injury, our rental car was a red Chevrolet Corsica… which was a staple [...]

Ever been in a hit and run accident?  Well I have.  I made a left turn and I noticed a white Honda Civic with a giant whale tail spoiler closing in fast from my right.  “That car isn’t gonna stop for the light” I thought to myself.  I slammed on the brakes but it was [...]

The title sums it up, really.  I thought it was no big deal at first, until the next day when I tried to watch something hands-free on my new iPhone 3GS… without a stand. The iPhone/iPod Touch are great for watching video on the go, but if you hold it in your hands, it’s not [...]

Recently I had a chance to play with- er, I mean, let my preschool-aged son play- with this odd blue thing called the Bilibo Imagination Toy from ThinkGeek.

If you’re like me, you may have a problem with wanting to keep your new toys shiny. For years, I struggled with this issue on my laptops. For some reason, those “Invisible Shield” type skins never work out for me because I could never get dust and bubbles out of them, and the imperfections bothered [...]

Review of the Tomy i-Sobot According to the Tomy i-Sobot website, this is the world’s smallest humanoid robot in production, as per Guiness World Records.  With 17 servos and only 6-1/2″ high, it could be.
