I thought I would write to boost the young female representation among fellow gadgeteers! I have been a faithful visitor of the site now for almost two years and will not purchase a thing unless I've checked out what "the girls" have to say. I mean, who can do without the "creak test"????
If the term "gadgeteer" is defined in terms of the number of gadgets one has then, alas, I fall short of the title. However, if it is defined in terms of how much one use, is dependant on and enjoys their gadgets then I'm your girl..! :o)
My name is Tammi Hewlett, I am married with two young boys and live in eastern Canada. About two years ago I got hooked on my first handheld. I researched it to death (which is half the fun!) and finally purchased a Compaq iPAQ 3650. That baby went everywhere I went: to the grocery store, in my car, camping, to chorale practice during which I used it to record parts that were challenging, on vacation, EVERYWHERE! I am a Junior High French Immersion Teacher and I often bring it to school and play songs that I am using in a lesson or keep it handy to work on tests or quizzes or, now that I am back doing my Masters, keeping track of my grad work. Of course, at school, the kids are always fascinated...especially when you pop on a video clip! Even my own little boys have their own V-Tech PDA's with built in b/w digital cameras...get 'em hooked young!
I have just purchased a Palm Tungsten T3 and look forward to a long and happy relationship...I mean what's winding down for the night without reading an e-book, playing a bit of Tycoon Lemonade, Alchemy or Text Twist and checking out the next days' schedule?? Indispensable!!
So, no, I don't have oodles and oodles of gadgets. Between my hubby and I, we have our cell phones, a Dell laptop and home PC and two digital cameras...but, boy oh boy, do I love my handheld!!! :o)
